Friday – TGIF JohnKu

Friday at last. The weather has been so cold and miserable the days drag by. I know everyone is having a similar bout of lousy stuff this week. My only salvation is there is no snow. The rain has been pretty steady for a couple of days and at least the driving isn’t affected, unlike the northern areas. I guess we should expect this kind of treatment in mid-January, but it doesn’t make it any more acceptable. Is anyone having nice weather? Let us know about it so we can either be extremely jealous or happy to hear good thoughts. Today’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words 4jp) talks about the weather. Hope you like it.

January’s here,

To some it’s a big surprise. . .

Snow, ice, bitter cold.

  1. Let me make you feel better: we’ve had some snow and some ice this past week, and temperatures have been as low as fifteen degrees below freezing some days. Yesterday our high was four degrees above the freezing point… gee… can summer be far behind?? 😀

I hate winter and I feel your pain.

    1. You did make me feel better for me but unfortunately for you not so much. What is this word summer? Is there such a thing?

  2. Had snow earlier in the week, but it’s really just been cold. Really makes me wonder if humans were originally designed to hibernate or be less active in the winter. Then again, ancient humans didn’t have alarm clocks and 9-5 jobs.

    1. If you think of how poorly humans are prepared for change in weather you have to wonder how we made it this far. Good thing fire came along,

      1. Furs and caves probably helped too. Though we may have been sturdier back in the day. Modern man seems oddly frail if you think about ancient man hunting mammoths with spears.

      2. Yeah I am definitely more fragile than that

  3. I wish we had snow … then I could appreciate the cold temps 😉 Even I haven’t lived in a northern clime since 1979, I still seem hard-wired to expect snow when the temperature drops. Hang in there, John. Consider this perfect weather for reading and snuggling 😉

    1. You are right. As I shiver at the keyboard I can look forward to a good read in the bed at night.

  4. B-r-r. It’s freezing here, you might say arctic. I might have to go out to buy some long-johns. I hope they have them in pink.

So, nothing cheery from here, John. Sorry. Think a nice beach scene, the sun blazing and your skin on fire because you fell asleep without an umbrella. 😀 😀 Not working for you? Sorry, it’s Friday and I’m all tuckered out. 😛

  5. Gonna rain out here today, but it’ll be 60 degrees. I can handle that…

  6. I think complaining about the weather on the Southern California coast is considered a misdemeanor, so I’ll just say things are not too shabby out here. 😉

  7. At least the bad weather should keep the tourists away John. It is raining and cold here in London, which probably doesn’t come as a big surprise. Have a good weekend.
