Friday again and not a moment too soon. This week was a short one but is still nice to hit the finish line intact. I say this even though I’m not out there in the work world. I have to admit some of the pain of that life is beginning to fade. I have now been a full-time writer for almost four years and it seems some of the bad memories have slid into the background. The foreground continues to be full of some pleasant memories of forty-five years of work. So here is hoping this process continues and by the time it’s all over there will only be the good ones to hang onto. Today’s JohnKu talks about memories.

Fresh memories cut,
Until time passes away. . .
Hurt gone thoughts are sweet.
Very well said. Enjoy your weekend.

You as well. Hope the snow leaves you alone.

Doesn’t look like it will. Just hoping it isn’t too bad. Shoveling all day is not fun.

Funny how memories can either cut like a knife or sweeten the soul like a warm cookie, isn’t it? Here’s to warm-cookie-writing memories from now on….

I like the warm cookie thought. Thanks for that I can almost smell those memories.

I’m on the other side of that equation John. I’m about four years away from retirement (unless I can convince my wife that it should be 3,2, or 1). Fridays are wonderful. They can’t come fast or often enough.

Hang in there Dan. You will kick yourself for going out early. There is so much a short timer can accomplish since you’ll have no ax to grind about the outcomes.

Thanks John. I don’t think I’m leaving early, but there are days 🙂

I’m looking forward to having memories of my work, not reality 😉 Have a great weekend, John! You’ve been busy this week. You deserve a rest!

Looking back at the many highs and lows of professional work does seem to fade away over time … unfortunately, so do the people … but it is important that smiles remain as the dominant feature. Well done … have a good weekend.

I think I’ll pass.Of course it would be fun to see the Pats kill Denver.

That could easily happen, but the Pats are banged up.

What struck me most about retirement was how naturally I took to it.

Yes. I wish I could find some time off though.

Love that photo! I truly empathize with this one, John. Working for myself — with all its ups and downs — is waaaaay better than working for somebody else! Happy Friday!

Yes it is. One benefit you can take time on the internet without a boss asking, “What are you doing there?”

TGIF to you, John! I don’t miss the work days either and Husband is finally learning to enjoy his free time too. Cold and sunny today but we aren’t expecting snow – lucky us!
