Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

TGIF

Another week has flown by. I wish I knew where the time goes. (well, I do know where it goes but it is hard to believe how quick it goes there.)

Continue to edit on Circumstances of Childhood. Found a couple of plot holes so it is a grab the backhoe maneuver and work to fill ’em up.

I also commissioned a new cover for My GRL. Why you ask? Long story but here is the short version. My contract with the publisher of My GRL is up for renewal in March. I do not want to renew so I will give the proper notice and then publish My GRL with that beautiful publishing house Keewaydin Lane Books.(Me). I don’t have the rights to the cover so I need to get a new one. Also, I’m getting a complete professional edit to clean up some things the publisher missed. I’m not going to make a big deal about it but what it will do is free up My GRL for some promotional work.

Also, there are only four more days of the campaign hell so I’m sure we will be able to look forward to the vote counting hell to follow. I wonder what the new term will be for “hanging chad.” Today’s JohnKu is about the election. Sadly we are all pawns in a ridiculous game.

First the campaign noise,

Next the voting fraud specter. . .

Who can help us cope?

  2. I sent in an absentee ballot from India this year. It seems this election was the only one thought important enough to make it easy to do that. Desperate times it seems. Have a great weekend, John. 🙂 — Suzanne

To your question, who can help us cope…ultimately for me, it is the Writer of our collective story — for surely goodness and mercy will follow, somehow. But then again, in the interim, there is always Vodka. 🙂

    1. Ha ha ha. I like the description of “Writer of our collective story.” Goodness and mercy is what we all hope. As we walk through the valley we trust the shield will be there. You are right, temporarily there is gin too. Thanks, Gwen.

  5. Nice decision. Looking at the covers, ‘My GRL’ does seem odd since the others have people on them. ‘His Revenge’ and ‘Our Justice’ give a real action thriller feel unlike the more mellow ‘My GRL’. Going to do a big event for its new release?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Not sure on the event. I’ll have to wait and see. I have the next one in line about the same time and I don’t want them to crowd each other. Decisions, decisions. Have a nice weekend. 🙂

      1. Tough one. Many a doubleheader that promotes both? Like have My Grl start at a sale price?

  7. Can’t wait to see the new cover, John. As for the election, I’m dreading it, but I be glad for all of the phone calls and commercials to be over. Pass the Vodka! Just kidding, I can’t handle hard liquor. 🙂 Happy Friday!

  10. I’m excited that you get control over My GRL back in the spring, John. That is excellent news! I’m also pleased that your electoral hell is almost over. I can’t believe the polls are saying that the election is a toss-up. Oremus… (let us pray).

  12. Best of luck with the cleanup and new cover, John. You’re fast becoming a pro at all things publishing-related, so I predict much success! As for the election mess, well, what can I say? Even when the voting is over, the constant talk will continue … and we might be recounting ballots until Christmas. Sigh.

Don’t envy anyone in the US these ‘last days’ (of campaigning). The clamour of vote-begging will pass of course, but I fear the bellyaching and b*tching will continue well into 2017, not to mention 2018,19 & 20… 😦 You Johnku says it all regrettably.

Still – there may be several great spoof movies of these last several months coming out to look forward to! And there’s always vodka of course. 😀
