Thursday – A Little Personal – My GRL New Cover Preview

As you may know, I will be launching a revised edition of My GRL. The reason this is necessary is that my contract with the publisher expires in 2017. I got word this week that the old edition of My GRL will be pulled from distribution on March 1st. The new edition will go up on the same day.  I thought I would give you a look at the cover. It follows the convention established on His Revenge and Our Justice. I hope you like it.

My GRL

My only challenge is trying to work out how to save the Fifty-Nine reviews. I have asked Amazon for advice. I know It’s like going to the IRS for tax advice but I don’t have anywhere else to go. They did respond with the information that all I have to do is inform them of the old ISBN number and the new. They will then restore all the existing reviews.

  7. Tough one. I remember early on that they would combine reviews for different editions of a book. So those of an older version would eventually appear under the new one.

      1. Well, I don’t think they can get rid of the old version. Just in case someone who bought it wants to review or return.

  14. Wow, congrats on that great new cover. It’s the perfect complement for the others in the series. And I understand that Amazon does carry reviews over. It may take a few days, but I’ve heard they’re pretty good at getting them transferred.

  15. That makes it all look like part of the set now! 😀
Amazon are pretty good at coping with ‘mismatches’ via ISBN edition numbers. I publish in paperback through |Ingrams/Lightning Source and do KDP myself as DreamWorlds Publishing and all the reviews are lumped together so it must work for revisions as well! 😉

  19. Applesauce! I know that’s a nail-biter about getting the reviews to stay with the book. Here’s wishing it goes smoothly. The cover looks good. The three-quarter view of the model carries the theme over well. Have a thriving Thursday. Hugs.

  20. Great Cover. Does make me initially think of a story about a woman, GRL, rather than a boat, GRL. Catchy, though. Good to know about getting those reviews switched over with your new ISBN. Wouldn’t want to lose those.

    1. Of course it does. But a chance I took . I didn’t want a male midshipman on the cover. Thanks, Susan.

  22. I love the new cover, John! It draws the eye perfectly and will stand out well. My non-fiction works had over 300 reviews when my then publisher closed its doors; and the books remained unpublished for over 18 months, before I had the gumption to self-publish. Amazon reinstated all my reviews with no glitches whatsoever. I hope ‘My GRL’ second edition has an equally smooth transition.
