I hope you are ready for the weekend. This has been a good week for me with more words written on the WIP. I did add a tweak on the Amazon Marketing Services promotion. I paused the first and launched a second and can report that I got fewer impressions but more clicks per impression. (For those who wonder Amazon charges by the click and you can set the price per click in advance) I also got a sale (I’m in no hurry to figure this out) on significantly less clicks and impressions. The only thing I changed was the promo blurb. I kept the keywords and number of keywords the same and the price per click the same.
So what conclusion can I draw?
- The promo blurb is important
- The same keywords and number do not deliver the same number of impressions from promo to promo.
- The keywords that did not get any impressions were the same from promo to promo so that means my price per click on those keywords was too low.
- I need to keep experimenting with the mix.
Today’s JohnKU talks about experimentation. I hope you all have a good weekend.

To solve a problem,
Many techniques are at hand. . .
Why trial and error?
Great JohnKu! As for the meme…well, you know what I think, John. Happy Friday!

I’m retired, John, so the workday has no meaning for me now. I don’t knock trial and error. It works for me. 😀 — Suzanne

I’m trying my hand at an Amazon promo myself. Definitely feels easier to set up than last time I tried. Went category, so I hope that works. Those blurbs are so hard to get right. Have a fun weekend.

Your journey into the Amazon jungle intrigues me; without a map, I’m lost. So, my secret hope is that you will chart one for the rest of us. The JohnKu is perfect and the meme–hilarious. 🙂

The metaphor of “jungle” is perfect. It is going to be a slow process and hopefully will yield some benefits. If not all I’ve lost is brain matter. Thanks, Gwen. 🙂

Yes — what Gwen said, John. I’m wandering in the dark forest of life (or Amazon) without a flashlight. 😀

Mmm… One cup of coffee is not sufficient for my poor brain to get wrapped around that. But I love the Johnku! TGI(my)F(riday off)!!! So maybe a second cup — oh bliss… 🙂
Happy weekend, John. Mega hugs.

This is a good week to say goodbye to, John. I always wondered why “trial and error” seems like and endless loop.
I hope you have a great weekend.

I’m not sure either, Dan. I remember the definition of insanity. “Doing the same thing but expecting a different outcome.” 😀

I love that definition, John. I think it was Einstein.

Glad to hear you’re making progress on the Amazon Marketing process. I tried one and totally struck out in February. Four lousy clicks and no sales. I guess everything was wrong/bad/inept/whatever. Sigh. Have a great weekend, John!
