Thursday – A Little Personal – Bailey’s Lament

Lucy

“Hi, Boss.”

“Hi, Lucy. What’s happening?”

“Do you think you could set that computer aside and take us to the beach?”

“Sure thing. Is Bailey ready to go?”

“Uh?”

Bailey

“Wait, what?”

“Want to go to the beach?”

“What about my nap?”

Lucy

“Brother. That would be the tenth nap today.”

“Okay ladies, Let’s hit it.”

Stella

“A nice long walk.”

“Thank you, Stella. Lucy and Bailey love your input.”

Bailey

“Look at these tracks. We should be riding in something like this.”

“Come on Bailey. A walk will do you good.”

Bailey

“I just had my nails done. Look at Lucy. She’s just sitting there.”

Lucy

“I’m trying to figure out where that sand crab went. I think he jumped into a dune buggy.”

Bailey

“Okay give me a moment. I have this itch.”

“Sure Bailey. You are allergic to walks.”

Bailey

“Oh, that was a good one.  Come on Lucy.  I guess we’ll have to do this thing.”

Lucy

“I don’t know. I’m now thinking we should wait until nighttime for this. Do that itching thing again. Maybe it will buy us some time.”

Bailey

“He’s getting a little impatient.”

“Okay ladies. Either walk or we go back home.”

“Ahh. Love the AC.”

So cute! The best intentions are foiled by high temps and an AC. Loved the dialogue and photos. 🙂

    1. Telling us to take a long walk in the story. In real life she was demanding that I pet her.

      1. Got it. Couldn’t tell if she was happy or angry. Seen cats use that face for both.

    1. Yes indeed. I understand you folks have been in the 90’s. (At least that’s what our local witch doctor says.)

      1. Lately, and it feels like a repreive from the ten days over 100. Happens every year, don’t know why it always seems like a surprise.

      2. It is like that everywhere. When we have hurricane like water during hurricane season we are always surprised. “What? The gas tanks are empty? What a surprise.”

      3. Yup. I guess we’re all human, even though we know what happens.

  4. You should have never given them that option, John. I’m with Bailey – you should be taking them for a ride on the beach.

    1. Ha ha ha. Funny thing is Bailey hates the golf cart. Go figure. 😀

  9. Scooter is glaring at me.

    “What?”

    He glares harder….

“We don’t live near the beach.”

    He glares even harder.

“Hey, you get to poop and pee anywhere you want to, 24/7. They don’t.”

    Tail wagging….

    1. That’s right. When we need to poop or pee we have to rely on these humans to be able to interpret the need. They get it right most of the time. The others? Well let’s just say we have learned to dance.

  22. When I saw this post last week I had to come … then I forgot (Obama’s fault) …. then I remembered (obviously Trump’s credit).

I imagine you get a summer breeze, but I would think the summer humidity is a bit high … besides, I heard them cheering the AC.

    1. The humidity is awful. We don’t normally have high humidity except when there is a Southwest wind off the Gulf. They love the AC
