Views of the Neighborhood – City Services

My producer and I were discussing the number of services that were available for residents of our city. We have a population of 3,300 and it is amazing the number of services available in Port Aransas. We decided to detail them here. We left off trash and brush collection as well as police and fire since those are available to most cities. We did not include those activities available exclusively to tourists too. I hope you enjoy a recap of those amenities available.

Port Aransas Services

This is our community theater.

The new art center (under construction)

The Museum

The Computer Center.

The weekly newspaper

Chamber of Commerce

Animal rescue

And since the Producer is also involved in Boxer rescue we have extra pictures of dogs…

And these adorable kittens. Our shelter is a no-kill shelter, so all the rescues have an opportunity for a new home.

The Library. (Which is expanding)

A wildlife refuge named Charlie’s Pasture. Here is the pavilion with bay water in the background

The Marine Science Institute

The public pool with new water slide.

  1. That’s a lot to do when you’re looking to be entertained. Although, I’d steer clear of the gator.

What a fun excursion – except for the Birding Center (alligators terrify me). Have a wonderful day! 🙂

  4. You certainly have a lot going on, or at least a lot to choose from, John. Who’s the unwelcome guest at the birding center? Is he there for a snack, or just mugging for the camera? I was disappointed that there were no action shots of you on the new water slide 😏

  8. Thank you for another lovely Sunday stroll, John. What a marvelous place to live! Except the alligator — Akkk! A little dose of reality?
That ginger kitten looks like he just can’t wait to get into some fun trouble. A friend for Stella? Wishing you and Molly and the crew a wonderful new week. Mega hugs.

    1. Thank you, Teagan. It was all we could do to leave them there. Stella is not so happy with new animals.

      1. I can imagine (Both). Crystal’s IBD medicine causes her to have fear aggression. So unfortunately she has to stay an only cat. I was worried about that when Aspen died, but she grieved and then moved on. She seems content enough being an only cat. Happy new week.

  25. Nice to see a park named after me, John. Does anywhere ever get busy? It looks so quiet. I guess the pool will get busy, especially with a new water slide. And that cute airport! I’m guessing they don’t fly directly to the UK from there. 😀
