Thursday – A Little Personal – The Toy

Stella

“Excuse me, John.”

“Yes, Stella what is it?”

“Shouldn’t those canines be playing instead of sleeping all day?”

“I think you have a point. Let me talk to them.”

“Lucy. Wake up.”

“Huh…wait, what boss?”

“Don’t you think you and Bailey ought to do something other than sleep on the couch.”

Stella, Bailey and Lucy

“Aw. . . Man, Boss. I’m glad you woke me I had this dream that I was sleeping next to Stella.”

“Never happen. See you even dream of sleeping in your sleep. You guys need to do something.”

“How about you, Bailey.”

“Gosh, Pop. I’m good right where I am. Er, what did you have in mind?”

“So Lucy. Here is a toy. Why not play.”

“Boss, boss, boss. You expect me to play with a terry cloth pig? Maybe Stella would do that. Not I.”

“Nope, I’m good, John. Got my three-headed snake on a stick.”

“Here Bailey. Take this thing away from me.”

“Okay, Lucy. Only because I love you. Mmmmmfffffptttt.”

“Man this thing tastes like it’s been in mothballs.”

“Boss. We gave it the college try. This just isn’t our kind of toy.”

“Fine ladies. Hit the couch.”

  2. Fun visit with the girls this morning, John. Aren’t pets funny with their reaction to different toys? I’ve bought Crystal cool looking toys that remain untouched while she plays and pounces on packing paper and bendy straws…
    Have a thriving Thursday. Hugs

    1. Oh, bendy straws. Gotta get some for Stella. Hugs, Teagan.

      1. Oh yes. They are Crystal’s new favorite thing, supplanting rings (from jars or large bottles). And almost paper balls, but they are a different game. 🐱

    1. It is a good saying. When Stella discovered Lucy sleeping next to her she immediately moved. It was so funny. 😀

  6. Love it! Those two are too much. You never know what toy is going to get their attention on any given day. Maddie dug something out today that she hasn’t played with in months.

    1. We just took a bunch to the shelter. We gave our two the opportunity to check them out, so the ignored went off to a better use.

      1. Oh my. If we did that, Maddie would tear the place apart looking for the ones we gave away.

  8. Yup. Sometimes I think they would have chosen something different at the store. All I know is a ball can’t miss at my house. They both love them.

    1. We have taken them to Pet Smart and watched them choose a toy. The end is the same. On the floor – no action.

  11. Canines are all about participation activity – they love you to at least be their audience! My Toby won’t go and play in the garden unless there’s someone out there with him… But I think there’s only one diva in your place, John & it’s Stella! 😛
