A Little Personal – Lucy, Bailey and Stella – Summer Heat

Lucy, Bailey, and Stella

“Hi, Boss.”

“Hi, Lucy. What is going on?”

“Well at breakfast this morning, Stella was calling Bailey, and I chicken.”

“Oh dear. Do you know why?

“She said we were afraid to go outside.”

“And it looks like she might be right.”

“Aw, boss don’t take sides.”

“Okay, I will talk to her.”

“Stella, did you call your sisters chicken?”

“I confess I did.”

“How come?”

“The last time they went out, they went through the motions.”

“And then?”

“Well, Lucy got all squinty after a minute.”

“Yes, then what happened?”

“Bailey did her “Turkey on a platter” imitation and with that unsettled face.”

“But they did go outside.”

“Yeah for two minutes then it was into the shade and beg you to come in.”

“Well, you know Bailey is a Princess.”

“Check out Lucy too.”

“So I don’t think calling names is a good idea, do you?”

Stella

“You know, John. I calls ’em as I see ’em.”

“You never go outside, Stella.”

“Not my fault, John. You were the one to decide to make me an inside kitty.”

“Let’s forget it.”

“I knew you would see it my way.”

  1. Looks like Stella has an attitude problem. She’s behaving in a distictly speciesist fashion.

  2. I really enjoy these posts with the pets, John. I laughed out loud at *“Turkey on a platter” imitation* — perfect name for that posture.
Crystal is watching her favorite YouTube video of deer while I have coffee and brace myself for the office. One day at a time — as long as she still feels good.
    Have a thriving Thursday. Hugs.

  4. Ha! Your “turkey on a platter” position is what we call “the stuffed chicken” pose. Too funny.

I love these dialogues! LOL. Cats and dogs coexist in such funny ways – especially if we can step back and see it as such. Thank you for the morning delight! 🙂

    1. Stella was sniffing Bailey’s paws this morning. I was waiting for a comment but she just wanted to sniff. Thanks, Gwen.

  8. I was wondering if Stella was an indoor cat. Can’t say I blame Lucy and Bailey for preferring the shade to the heat.

    1. Stella has been indoors since she was rescued. Shade is nice, AC better. Thanks, Charles.

      1. So with them on the AC advantage. More people should accept that fact. 😀

  21. Indoor kitties have it made. I suspected that Stella was an indoor kitty. Charming dialogue as always – oh, photo/illustrations are perfect! A little overcast today so maybe it would not be too bad outside for your other babies. We got a nice shower this morning.
