“Hi, Boss.”
“Hi, Lucy. What is going on?”
“Last week Bailey, Stella, and I had time off.”
“I know. You guys do anything interesting?”
“Well, we took a morning dip in the pool. Of course, a dove interrupted us. Pesky thing anyway.”
“Too fast for you huh?”
“Then we went for a walk and ran into our friend on the beach. He was on his golf cart.”
“He looks glad to see you.”
“We built a sandcastle too.”
“Sandcastle? That looks like a bone.”
“All in the eye of the beholder, Boss.”
“I decided to dig a hole to China. Bailey wouldn’t help.”
“I think Baily probably had a realistic view of where China was located.”
“Huh?”
“Never mind. What was next?”
“We went to the candy store and put out heads in a cutout. You should see Bailey.”
“I don’t think she enjoyed it.”
“Looks that way.”
“I told Bailey we needed a snow cone. I’m trying to decide on the liver or bacon flavor.”
“What flavor did Bailey get?”
“What do you think? Kibble flavor. Out of hundreds, she gets Kibble.”
“I decided it might be fun to get tattooed. Guess who put the kibosh on the idea?”
“Um…Bailey?”
“Bingo.”
“Happy hour at the Salty Dog. What a blast.”
“Did they serve you?”
“We got carded, and we left out ID at home. We ordered water. We did see a Texas hold ’em game though.”
“At the marina, we were waiting for the Pirate boat to come by. You can just see it off to the right. Bailey kept looking at a gull.”
“She is like that for sure.”
” We took some time on the playground equipment. Those slides were fun.”
“We finally had to head home and take a little nap.”
“What was Stella doing all this time?”
“Not sure. Ask her.”
“Stella, what were you doing on the week off?”
“You are kidding, right?
What a nice week they had.
Meanwhile, I’m off to UK again tomorrow; back on Wednesday. Have a good weekend.

Last trip was to a nephew’s wedding and to pick up father-in-law so he could have a holiday and look after the hellhounds while we were in the south of France last weekend for our daughter’s marriage. This trip is to take the old boy back again (and to see my sisters while I’m there)

I think I’d like to spend my week off with them. Sounds like a blast, John. However, I’d have stuck with Bailey about the tattoo.

Henna only lasts four weeks. The question for Lucy is whee do we put it? Thanks, Hugh.

Ahhhh, the best vacation ever. No suitcases to pack or check-in issues, no plane delays or rough weather…..just delight! And, the cutout photos belong on a magazine cover! 🙂

This is great, John. You have them nailed. The thought of a liver-flavored sno-cone isn’t doing much for my appetite, but I bet Maddie would like one. Love the photo of them napping.

Cats are so secretive! Great outing with the pups, John — sounds like they had fun, too. I remember trying to dig to China when I was a kid!

Phffft-snort! Somebody walked past my office just as Stella’s parting comment cracked me up. LOL. It was a delight to get a neighborhood tour from the girls, John. Do we eventually get Bailey’s side of the story? Have a fun-filled thriving Thursday!

Those girls are something else! The cutout sign was hilarious!! And poor Bailey is always the voice of reason. I think Lucy needs to be checked for tattoo’s … Max swears he saw her at Paws & Claws getting one…something about her sneaking out 😄Your last line though… purfect!

WOW, guys. What a great time off you got to do. I’ve never gotten to do so many things in just one day in my entire life – and you sure have a lot of water near where you live! We just have one tiny pond near me. We don’t even have one of those snow-cone stores here — but kibble? I didn’t know ANYBODY liked those health chunks. I’d go for the bacon (unless they had chicken). I’m not sure about that tattoo either – but nobody would ever see it under all my hair anyway.
Mom’s letting me Guest-Post on her blog again for National Dog Day, so I’ll add you to my list of “relateds,” hoping to give some of the 2-legses the idea of some things they could do with their 4-legses to celebrate the day (she makes me follow her format and she’s big on links).
Watch for a ping on August 26th.

I love to go out too, and to ride in the car – but today it was raining so hard that I had to stay in the car with Uncle Jason while Mom went into the store where she usually takes me too. NO fun!
