Friday John Ku – AKA – TGIF

TGIF

It is Friday again and time to look forward to the weekend. It is also time to say thank you for all the warm wishes my family and I have received as a result of hurricane Harvey making a mess out of our island.  Thank you all.

I am happy to report that the damage is all repairable although it looks like the roof and floors will need to be replaced. There still is no electricity but that will improve. Once the electricity is on we will be able to go back. None of the repairs needed make the house uninhabitable so we are very fortunate. Others are not as fortunate. Todays John Ku talks about the importance of good wishes.

What a relief it is to hear that all is repairable. I hope you are able to return home soon to begin the rebuilding process. Your 4-legged ladies probably need sand beneath their feet as much as their mom and dad. 🙂

    1. That is the truth Gwen. Sand is a good thing and I noticed my feet starting to get soft. 😀

  3. Echoing the others, John. I’m glad to hear that the damage is repairable. This has been a devastating storm. We’ve been reading sad stories and uplifting ones, but we feel for all who have been affected. I hope you get to go home soon.

Yay! I’m happy you guys are doing good. Wish your house was untouched, but I guess this is real life, and not a novel. I think. 😜 Best of luck, John.

  11. Pleased to hear that your house survived Hurricane Harvey John. It is a good thing that you are something of a DIY expert. The roof and flooring will be a big job, but it could have been much, much worse. Hope everyone on your island is okay.

  14. What a blessing!! As others have said, things can be replaced. Before Harvey finally dies, I think we all are going to feel some of his effects. I know you’re eager to get back home and return things to normal.

    1. They are shooting looters on sight and wish they would do that with contractors. When the air comes on we can live in the house so I will take my time selecting the right one.

  23. I’ve been thinking about you and your family, John. The images we’ve been getting her in Oz have been heartbreaking. I’m so pleased and relieved to hear that you are okay. Buildings can be repaired, it will take far longer for the memories to heal themselves. You are in my thoughts, my friend. (((HUGS)))

My Wi-Fi went off the night before last and just came back on probably because Mumbai flooded again. All the best, John and I hope you’re all home soon. ❤ — Suzanne
