“Hi, John.”
“Well, Hi, Stella. What you up to today?”
“Nothing much. I just wanted to check and see what you were doing.”
“I’m putting a finishing touch on a story for tomorrow.”
“Isn’t tomorrow the Thursday post, A Little personal?”
“It sure is.”
“Doing a feature on the canines?”
“No. It is all about you.”
“About me? How appropriate. Can I get up on your desk?”
“Sure. Let me move a little, and you can jump up.”
“Um. I think I need a lift. Grab that glass of water as well.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
“You know I’m getting up there.”
“Yes, Stella. We talked about that last week.”
“I know, but when you said, “Jump.”
“Wishful thinking I would guess. Here you go.”
“Terrific, John. You sure I’m not putting you out?”
“Oh, no. I can write just fine from over here. Your foot just made your photo go away.”
“Ah, you can get it back. Right?”
“Of course I can. You just take your time and enjoy the water.”
“You know I need to get down now.”
“Given the fact you have permission to walk on the keyboard and drink water on my desk, I’m sure you want down.”
“You’re the best, John.”
“You too, Stella.”
Stella seemed to enjoy her one on one time with you, John. I hope Lucy and Bailey weren’t jealous. Happy Thursday!

They were taking a nap so I don’t think they knew. Thanks, Jill.

She looks happy. Water in a glass sure makes it a snazzy joint. 🙂

By the way, we have the same cordless phone set up. 🙂

I keep forgetting to disconnect the phone. It doesn’t work. Our landline was destroyed in the Hurricane. We don’t plan to get another.

Makes sense. Most people only have cellphones

Very sweet exchange, John. Felines seem to love sitting on the keyboard and otherwise being with us as we write. And, drinking from your dad’s glass is a bit of heaven. 🙂

Stella sounds a bit like the Rum Tum Tugger (from T S Eliots Book of Practical Cats) – always wanting to be where she’s not, or on ‘the wrong side of every door’. But cats are born to be high maintenance and have to have skilled cat butlers to keep them comfy and happy – she’s a very lucky lady! 😀

Great post. Cats, like dogs, are also wonderful companions to people and each has their own idiosyncrasies. Stella is very much like our cat Betty.

I’m sure Betty and Stella would never get along then. 😀

Stella deserves extra special attention. I picked up on the “jump” thing. It gets harder to jump when you are old, and the age is showing in her sweet face. Great post, John.

I know, Jan. She is getting older and the time is getting shorter sad to say.

Love your posts about your three fur buddies. It is so sad when a beloved pet ages and cannot do what they did so easily before…

So true. All we can do is make them comfortable.

Aww, Stella is the best. I love the photos of her drinking from the glass.
It’s sad to see our pets age, but Stella knows she is loved and that is all that matters!

Nothing spoiled about that kitty! Wonder why our pets seem to think that drinking out of a glass is a special treat though?!?

It’s good to see you understand your place in the relationship, John. Stella seems like a sweetie. I’m sure you don’t mind sharing your water.

You got some really great pictures of Stella. It’s so true our feline friends love a nice glass of water and the keyboard:) They certainly help the writing process.

What is it with cats and glasses? They always prefer them to their own bowls – but Stella is very deserving.

Yes she is. She refuses to drink out of bowls except the dog water. She loves to sneak a sip from the pooches.

Stella time!!!! She’s so smooth. She has a way of manipulating you into thinking she needs your permission.
