This week our Coffee Waves shop had its grand re-opening after Hurricane Harvey. Although I wouldn’t usually feature such an event on Views, I thought it significant as one more piece of evidence of a return to normal here in Port Aransas.
I published this trailer picture earlier this fall when Coffee Waves was open for business but not in their building.
Here is the finished building.

This is a close-up of the words on the wall. Pretty much a favorable view of those things that happen to us all. I know in your town, the opening of a coffee shop would not garner a lot of attention. Here, it is news since it is one more step to returning to the life we all love so well. Thanks for joining me.

I think it’s wonderful that you have this to share on the last day of the year, John. What a powerful message of hope and a great example of the spirit of Port A!

Our daughter brought us along as their Christmas gift to us. We had 5 days notice. Feeling blessed. I love the sun while sitting n the shade! I’m no sun worshipper!

John, this is a marvelous, uplifting post, perfect for New Year’s Eve. I think the coffee shop is well worth sharing — great looking place. Now for some strange reason I’m jonesing for another cup of coffee… The question is, can I pry myself out from under my electric throw blanket to get it? Hugs!

Ha! I could be “Cat Grant” on Supergirl. No second coffee yet, but I’ve gotten motivated enough to try and figure out what kind of home made soup I can pull together. I’ve been too dependent on Stouffers lately, so I need to replenish the non-frozen pantry…

I favor prosciutto/provolone stuffed tortellini in chicken broth with onions and carrots. That’s just me though. (you buy the pasta in the chilled section, use low sodium chicken broth and real carrot and onion.) 😀

I really love where you live–so pretty and clean. I lived in San Antonio until I was 5 years old. Still remember the wide streets, trolley cars and the Alamo. Too hot for me though 🙂

They have a killer tea selection. There is an item called Chai Train. So good (Tea, caramel and don’t ask.)

Killer tea? I love it, John. A great subject for a story. I often ‘dunk’ chocolate biscuits into my tea.It helps with not adding sugar to the tea.
