It is Stream of Consciousness Saturday time and this week’s prompt is “In Other Words.” Yes, you read that right. Linda was very kind this week and dictated that we only have to use ‘in other words,” once in our post. Okay, gang, this preamble doesn’t count. If you would like to cause, your confidence to slip a little by joining in go to Linda Hill’s post and read how to do that most effectively. Here is the link.

In Other Words by John W. Howell © 2018
” In other words, you don’t want to go.”
“I didn’t say that. I said I had some things to do.”
“Why don’t you just come right out and say you don’t want to go.”
“If I didn’t want to go, I would just say that. Why are you being a jerk?”
“You know how much I like this kind of thing. I know you are not crazy about it, but I would think you could just be a good sport and go with me.”
“First of all, when did you know about this?”
“Well, I just got the tickets at work.”
“When?”
“Monday.”
“Here it is Saturday, and you think I will drop everything to go and you couldn’t give me more than twenty-four hours notice?”
“I guess I could have.”
“So why didn’t you?”
“Well…”
“Yes?”
“I asked Frank to go.”
“In other words, Frank was your preferred guest.”
“Well no.”
“What then.”
“He enjoys it. You don’t.”
“Why can’t he go?”
“He has other things to do.”
“In other words, to use your words, he didn’t want to go.”
“I guess not.”
“Well, that makes two of us.”
“I don’t get it.”
“What?”
“Why no one wants to watch the New England Patriots except me?”
“Because you don’t have a clue, you belong together.”

Great dialogue between the couple…As for the game, I wouldn’t go because it will be freezing in MN, and even though the game is inside, you still have to get there. I guess I have no spirit. 😀

I think you are wise. Spirit is tough to maintain in ten degree weather.

Ouch! But I’m giving this two thumbs up. Of maybe two of those big foam fingers. Very nicely done, John. I hope we can enjoy the game.

We just got the hopper and cannot figure out how to set our DVR for longer times since unknown when the game will end. I’m too lazy to read the booklet. So guess I am staying up!!!

Just set the recording to start at 8:00 pm central during the Super bowl and run it for three hours. Then you fast froward to the This Is Us start when ready to watch. They say This Is Us will start about 9:15 pm central but you can’t trust that.

I didn’t see that ending coming. I thought the tickets were for the Ballet, or opera or something along those lines.

Fly me to the moon, this is clever goodness!
And as an impartial observer who plans on loving the hell out of today’s game whilst instigating a local turf war between my New England and Philadelphia compadres, I will be chanting the annual fight song of Dolphins fans everywhere as per the Super Bowl . . .
“Go Commercials!”

I was in Minnesota once. I said something to the person next to me and my words froze and fell to the pavement. It was minus 34 degrees.

Haha! Yep, I can see that. When I owned a full-service gas station, I’d spend 10 hours a day outside pumping gas in -40 degree weather. Because no one wants to get out of their car in that kind of cold, we were busy.
Had to glue my fingers back on three times in one day.

Let me tell you about my full service work time. I was working alone one night so while there was no on at the pump, I had to grease and change the oil on a fleet of Eckrich meat trucks. I was under a truck when the bell went off so I quickly went out to service the customer. It was about 35 degrees so I did the windshield. I didn’t know it but I had grease on my arm and spread it all over the guy’s windshield. After I got him calmed down I had to get hot water and detergent to clean the glass all while several cars came in. I’ll never forget it. (obviously since it was 51 years ago. 😀
