Friday John Ku – AKA – TGIF

Another week in the bag. (so to speak). We are happy that all the repairs have been made at our house. Yesterday was the first day in six months that no one was scheduled to come in and do something. The sound of silence is deafening. I have to say after all the angst and loss of hair, the house looks great.

TGIF

Here is the photo I ran on this blog before the flooring work started.

New Floors

So here is the finished item. Wider planks, darker wood, more texture in keeping with a beach house.

Today’s John Ku talks about the new normal in a disaster area. I hope you have a great weekend.

  4. Turned out beautifully! The darker/wider planks really update the look of your place. I like the color of your walls, by the way. I know they look different in a photo, is that like a misty green? Patience IS a virtue. Wish I could go out and acquire some. haha.

    1. The walls are actually grey. The camera gives them a green tone for some reason. I think it is the light interference. Thank you, Pamela.

      1. Yes, a soft grey can give off different pastel color according to the light. I like it! 🙂

Wow, the deeper tones are exquisite. I suspect your floors will keep speaking to you for awhile, of Harvey and workmen and transformation. 🙂

    1. Yes. We have to tell them (the floors) to hush once in a while. Thank you, Gwen.

  14. Congrats, John!
I’m sitting in the bedroom – house in total disarray – working on a tiny notebook type laptop – waiting for the carpet installers to finish and then it’s back to work putting everything back together!! It’s been an experience living in a construction zone!!

  15. Given that so much work needed to be done in the Port Aransas area, it is a blessing that everything is done.

    Looks great too!

  24. It looks just wonderful. Isn’t it funny how we advise one another to “practice” patience? I wonder from time to time how much practice is required before we get it right? For now, at least, your patience has paid off — enjoy the silence, and the new beauty around you.
