Passive/aggressive is part of Stream of Conscious Saturday. Not necessarily behaviors of any of the principles it’s just that today’s prompt is passive/aggressive. Passive/Aggressive by John W. Howell © 2018
“Passive is my mode of dealing with challenges.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I was just getting ready for my support group meeting tonight.”
“What support group meeting?”
“Oh, I didn’t tell you. I have decided I need to talk out some things.”
“And my ears have been cut off I suppose.”
“Now come on. You know you get tired of hearing about all my little quirks.”
“No, I find your quirks as you call them, very endearing.”
“I can’t believe that.”
“Well, it’s true.”
“The fact that I can’t cross the kitchen floor.”
“Endearing.”
“Or can’t stand the tentative nature of living in a house that we don’t own.”
“Endearing.”
“Of wanting to have more babies.”
“Yes, endearing.”
“Of being afraid of aggressive insects.”
“Totally endearing.”
“Being allergic to flies.”
“The most endearing.”
“Afraid of being stepped on.”
“I share that fear and it is endearing.”
“I can’t weave a web.”
“I always help. Endearing.”
“Well, maybe I’m overreacting a bit. I think I need to put my feet down and get a grip.”
“That’s my love. Put all eight down and take a deep breath. I like it when your six eyes are shining. You look so aggressive.”
As someone with a very rational fear of spiders, I found this to be an enthralling thrill ride of a story! Just kidding, but it was lovely 🙂

Thank you for the visit and comment, George. I find spiders to be quite interesting. Never met one I didn’t like. 😀

A fly allergy sounds nightmarish. I mean, how do you avoid those things?

If a spider it might be tough. 😀

This was great, John! I’ll be thinking of the original THE FLY movie with Vincent Price all day. 🙂 Happy Saturday!

Thant was a super movie, Jill. Happy Saturday to you. *sung to the tune of Rocky Mountain Way by Joe Walsh.

It really was a classic movie, John. Remember Vincent Price’s head on the body of the fly while caught in the web? “Help me.” LOL! I don’t think I know that song…I’ll check out YOUTUBE.

I remember. The remake was scary. Jeff Goldblum was terrific.

I was too much of a chicken to see the remake. 🙂

See, this is why we capture spiders and put them outside. If I ever see two together, I’ll think of this.
Very nice job with a difficult prompt, John.

Thanks, Dan. Tried hard not to go the cliche direction or talk about an ex wife. 😀

Ha ha – I have avoided the ex-wife conversations for my entire time blogging, John, but it is hard on days like this.

Spiders, ugh. Two spiders, scary. Throw in a fly, and the scene gets really messy. This is a story I did not expect, but you pulled it off masterfully. 😀

Thank you, Gwen. I have to wonder what kind of brain thinks up this stuff. 😀

Love this, John! And I have to say I’m not afraid of spiders unless that are the really big and hairy kind. Have an awesome Saturday.

With Twiggy around, I doubt it is safe for spiders..
or anything else that moves…
or anything else that doesn’t move.

You’ve covered the state of nature here. I think Twiggy thinks her name is No Twiggy.

This is Endearing. Spiders are my heroes. They catch other bugs, like mosquitoes. I do encourage them to do it outside though.

I do too. I even carry them out when necessary.

Yay! I keep a glass and stiff paper in a special spot just for carry outs.

Excellent idea. We don’t have that many. Maybe one a year.

I think so. But maybe we are missing some past control.

Spiders get a bad wrap, and for what reason? Because of the way they look? Maybe they’d be frightened if WE SHOWED our faces to them…
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think that’s why they try to stay hidden.

I’m with JoAnna – spiders became my heroes when I stayed in an area of Africa infested with Tsetse flies… and played host for a couple of days to a maggot, just above my belly button! 😦 I even shared a shower with about 7 wolf spiders after that! 😛
They DO look scary though – especially when they’re just sitting there ready to run at you at spidey speed, just when you think they’re not going to… 😐

I know right. Tarantulas do the same thing. I think it is a spider game.

Tee-hee! That was fun, John.
(My ex believed spiders had a collective intelligence and were conspiring against him; that if he killed one they would all get together to come and kill him. Someday that’s going into a book…) Hugs on the wing… or web! 🕷️ 🕸️
