Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Spring dayHere we are. It is almost the weekend already. I hope your week was a good one and you are looking forward to some well deserved time off. Here at the beach, we have finally settled into some beautiful days. We had some high winds that are as a result of a Northern high-pressure front moving in. It is now stationary, so that means the winds are calm and the seas moderate.

The best part is the onshore water is clear and beautiful. When the wind kicks up the surf it also causes turbulence which then makes the sand become water born. This leads to murky conditions which are not the best for view or swimming. We, locals, are always glad to see the deep blue offshore and the gradual blue to turquoise near shore. Most places have signs of spring, and ours is no different. The blue water is a sure sign.

Today’s John Ku talks about signs of season change. I hope you all have a beautiful weekend

Might be a Robin,

Could also be the tree buds . . .

We all know it’s spring.

  2. I hear there is quite a rainy front just south of us, so we’ll probably going to have rain all next week. I presume you will be getting some of that front too.

  4. That’s lovely view, John. I came home from about a week on the road and it’s green here. It’s warm and the sun is shining and it’s green!

  5. Our signs are the classic flowers, robins, and layers of pollen that make some humans breathe like they’re Darth Vader. This year was odd too because we got all of those and then a sudden snowstorm hit. Not sure how the robins survived that surprise.

    1. Having lived in Michigan for 18 years, I was always surprised by seeing a Robin hopping along in the snow. I think they are pretty hardy.

  8. Truly? I fear spring is departing, stage left. It’s early summer, and we need the rain, too. Still — what’s not to like about all these baby birds, gorgeous flowers, and blue skies? Happy Spring!

The Midwest turned green overnight and brought in the hummingbirds – and the dratted woodpeckers. Love this time of the year! Great JohnKu. 😀

  11. We are finally seeing spring in our area as well. Everything is in bloom, lush and beautiful. We had a storm last night with hail, but it goes with the territory.

    Beautiful photo, John. Happy Friday!

  13. Enjoy your weekend, John. Last weekend, we had temperatures in the mid-80s, blue sky and sunshine. This weekend we can expect temps in the mid-50s, grey skies and rain. It’s still very much spring here.
