Views of the Neighborhood – Go Topless Event

This weekend the beach was inundated with Jeep owners celebrating the topless season of Jeep ownership. Here is a description of the event from the All Things Jeep website.

“Go Topless Day® is a spring tradition when we celebrate the return of warm weather and sense of fun and adventure that comes along with owning a Jeep! Go Topless Day® was started by All Things Jeep’s founders in 2008 after a particularly brutal New England Winter. The first event was a small meet up of Jeepers at a local farm and ice cream stand, but the event has since grown to include thousands of participants all around the world!”

Here is a view of how Go Topless Day® went in my neighborhood.

Go Topless Day

There were a few unusual vehicles. This is a hunter’s Jeep

Here is a restored 78 with Beer Bumps and Whiskey Dents decals.

Here is another shot of this beauty.

Yes. You could eat off the engine.

Jeep

Pay no attention to that golf cart in front of a line of Jeeps.

Jeep

Another line-up. There are various clubs from across the state represented.

This shot gives you an idea of the flags and spirit.

Jeep

This shows that behind the Jeeps folks have brought campers for an overnight experience.

I thought this was pretty unique. A tent on the back of a Jeep.

A nod to humor.

Jeep

An unusual color for sure. It was a beautiful weekend for the event and everyone seemed to be having a great time.®®

  3. When I was in high school, I begged my father for a jeep…he got me a Toyota Corolla instead. Great photos and perfect weather! I like that Short Bus. Happy Sunday, John!

  4. That title made me think you all had gone Cypress Cove on me…or Leisure Lagoon. Fun trucks and such. Love the little car with teeth. What model is that?

  7. “Pay no attention to that golf cart in front of a line of Jeeps.”? But John — that’s my favorite! Admittedly that ultra clean engine is impressive… my kitchen is jealous today. Terrific stroll along the Port A beach. Hugs!

  8. Took me a second to figure out the color one. Guess after you’ve seen a lime green Hummer, a purple Jeep isn’t that odd.

  9. I confess this isn’t my thing, but it looks like they’re having great fun. I did get a kick out of the short bus, and the purple jeep reminded me of the time I saw a purple Mercedes in the Texas Medical Center with a license plate that spelled out “Gauche.”

    1. There is a guy over there with no shirt. 😀 Besides this is America. Top-less refers to cars with no roof. (sadly as you pointed out)

      1. Hm…one guy only? 😭 We wanna topless girls on the car roof 🙂 that would be a story 😂😂

  15. That’s a great event to welcome the warmer season – although, how much warmer does it get on that beach? We’re starting to see the tops come off Jeeps up here. I’d have to hit a very low bridge to get the top off mine 😦

Yeah, you had me going with the word Topless in the title – but I thought, “Nah, this is a family-friendly blog!” I loved the golf cart too. My son, Dominic, had a red Jeep Wrangler – but I can’t remember the year. I hated riding in it! Great post, John!

  19. John, you sure know how to grab attention with a headline!! Looks like y’all had a sunny, warm day for the Jeep festivities. I like the tent on the Jeep, as well as that golf cart — it rather looks like it’s leading a parade of Jeeps!

  24. Looks like tons of fun. I liked that Mater wanna be golf cart. It was cute.

That blue jeep was pretty and a far cry from we had when I was girl. Ours was a hardtop, loud, and not too comfortable, but oh the places we went in her!
