Our neighborhood has a Fourth of July Day day parade. The neighbors decorate, wagons, bikes, and golf carts and have a parade.
The parade was led by four National Guardsmen who volunteered to be with us on the Fourth
Followed by a decorated cart and bicycle.
More bikes and a blue golf cart.
A green cart and a tricycle and a baby tram.
A wagon, a white cart, and an orange bicycle.
After the parade, everyone gathered at the organizer’s house for watermelon and ice cream.
The parade wasn’t big but packed an enjoyment punch. Thanks for coming along.

Growing up, I remember leading our neighborhood parade one year. I was dressed as a firecracker. It’s so nice to see these traditions still continue throughout the U.S. Thanks for sharing, John. Happy Sunday!

Our parade had to be cancelled because of the rain, but it’s always fun, too: it’s a “Teddy Bear” parade for the kids, with bears, wagons, bikes, and such. And costumes — always the costumes. Yours is similar — with that ice cream and watermelon as the perfect final touch.

Nothing like a small, laid-back, hometown parade. I used to be in our small southern NJ parades when I was a youngster. Unlike Jill (a firecracker) I was a flower that had to get ‘watered’ as the float drove down the town’s street. I was soaked by the end of the parade. 🙂
