Thursday – A Little Personal – Leash Time

“Hey, you two. Time to rise and shine.”

Lucy and Twiggy

“Wha— Ah Boss. Whats going on?”

“Yeah, dad. Today was supposed to be a sleep all day day.”

“It is official it is Twiggy tries out a leash day.”

“Lucy you and Bailey are going on your walk with Mom as usual. Twiggy, you stay with me.”

” Gives me time with this ball.”

“Then we are going to meet Mom at the beach.”

“Hey look, Dad. There’s mom with Lucy and Bailey. Why didn’t I get to walk the whole way?”

“You are too little, and it is too hot.”

“Bailey, Lucy. I missed you guys so much.”

“Yeah, we missed you too, Little Stuff.”

“How long were we gone, Bailey? A half hour?”

“The little ones don’t have a concept of time, Lucy. No use damping her enthusiasm.”

“Hey. Twiggy. We are heading home.”

“Okay, Lucy. Say what is that below the boardwalk?

“Sand.”

“Sand? What is sand?”

“Ground up seashells, quartz, feldspar, and mica.”

“Maybe I learn what those are later.”

“You don’t need to worry, Twigs. There is a lot of time to learn.”

“Aw, you are so kind, Lucy.

“Why can’t I get Dad to walk faster.”

“Well, he kind of likes to take his time and don’t tell him I said so but he’s getting older.”

“I thought so.”

“How did your trip to the vet go, Bailey?”

“Real good, Little stuff. My teeth got a nice cleaning.”

Bailey and Twiggy

“Can I look?”

“Sure. See how white?”

“You do look good. Mom keeps bothering me with a toothbrush.”

Bailey and Twiggy

“You should feel glad she does.”

“Why?”

“The more brushing at your age, the less trouble later.”

Lucy, Bailey and Twiggy

“We are the three Caballeros.”

“Uh. You have to be a male to be a Caballero, Twiggy.”

“Oh. What can we be then?”

“We can be the three Senoritas. Of course in Lucy’s case, it may be more Senora.”

“Very funny Bailey.”

“I say the three Senoritas.”

“You got it Little Stuff. The three Senoritas it is.”

Ahh, family walks are the best. Twiggy looks extra beautiful with her pink leash. Hope your day is perfect! 🙂

  2. The girls’ outing reminded me of a summer song I’d forgotten. Boardwalks are good — sand can be darned hot, even for doggie paws, and it seems we’re in for it for a little while.

    1. When this song came out I lived in Detroit and so far from a boardwalk. I always liked the idea. We have to walk at 7:30 to avoid the hot sand. Thank you, Linda. 😀

  3. After all the freedom Twiggy has in the yard, did she put up a fuss the first time you attached the leash?

    1. For some reason she loves her harness and leash. I think it means she is going to go different places and she is all about that. Thanks, GP. 😀

    1. I guess I’m too involved with Thrillers right now. This blog allows me to exercise my inner child. You humble me with the compliment though, Jill. Hugs

  5. My son walked over while I was looking at this. He wants you to know all of the doggies are cute and Twiggy’s leash is his favorite color.

  8. It’s lovely to start my Thursday with the Three Senoritas, John! 😀
I hope to catch up with Story Day at lunch.
Hey… last night I made an offer on a teeny tiny place in Austin. Lucy and Bailey would say it’s too little for a dog house, but Twiggy might approve. Wish me luck!
Wishing you and yours a thriving Thursday. Hugs.

    1. Wow. Austin. That would be fabulous. We are thinking of getting a place there as well. We love Austin. Where did you find a place?

  9. The boxers should teach her how to dig in the sand. Tons of fun. Maybe roll in something pungent along the beach.

    1. Roing in pungentcy is Bailey’s trick. Lucy doesn’t like to get dirty. They both can dig up a storm though.

  12. Aw, they’re just precious! Dallas says to remind Twiggy to brush often. That way, perhaps you all can waylay having anesthesia and a dental cleaning. Not sure I’d want to see his lustrous furs caked with sand though!

  21. They are so cute together! All 3 female too. Everything I’ve read says you should have male, and female, cause female and female, or male, and male tend to cause a lot of fighting. I’ve even read take serious consideration to any dogs sex that share a fence with you and get the opposite dog. It would be a conundrum if one had one or more of each as fence neighbors. Actually that’s how I ended up with female Diva Dog. One of our neighbors at the time we share a fence with had a male dog when I was looking for a puppy, so I believing the literature, and advice from friends with dogs I only looked for a female. Thankfully there wasn’t any fence fighting.

It’s so nice to see it isn’t the case at your place. The 3 Senoritas get on famously!
