Friday John Ku – AKA – TGIF

TGIF

Ah, weekend eve.  This week seems to have been a long one for some reason. I guess it might be the work being done on home projects and trying to balance work on the WIP. Sometimes it makes the days a little longer and the nights a little shorter. All in all the week felt slow, and I’m not complaining. Something about taking things slow seems to work out.

The weather has continued to be hot and humid, but that’s what it is every summer here. The tourists are behaving themselves for the most part. Last night there was some kind of firework extravaganza on the beach. Since they are illegal here, I hope the police cracked down. The noise stopped abruptly so maybe that was why.

Other than that everything has been pretty quiet.

Todays JohnKu talks about the tedious aspect of ordinary. I hope you have a super weekend.

When things are normal,

We may take it for granted. . .

Until the deluge.

Great JohnKu; I needed that reminder. Time seems to have slowed to a crawl this past week. It’s made me wonder if there is something to the Mercury Retrograde stories. Have a wonderful weekend, John.

  4. I’ve always enjoyed the fact that the liturgical calender has dubbed the season between Pentecost and Advent “ordinary time.” It’s a good reminder that every day’s worth celebrating, including the routine ones we tend to wander through half-awake.

    1. At this stage of life, my advice (to those who ask) is always to celebrate today.

  6. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the ordinary. It does seem to help one slow things down and just be. And it’s always funny how a week can feel slow yet looking back, passed so quickly.

    1. You have hit on a good point. The same can be said for a lifetime. At points there is agonizing slowness and at others the speed of light. Then in the last quartile one has to wonder where the time went afer all. Thanks, Dale. 😀

      1. I read somewhere that time is like a toilet paper roll: the closer you get to the end, the faster it spins. I’m thinking those ordinary slow moments are to be cherished.
