This week I thought I would go out and see how the golf cart business is doing. Mid-week I went to Bron’s Beach Carts to take a photo of the lot. I did this so that I could come back on Saturday and take another shot. A lot filled on Wednesday and empty on Saturday means tourists are here. I know not very scientific but better than nothing.
Her is a far away shot of Brons. You can see some carts in the lot.
A closer look at the entrance. Looks like a guy has been waiting quite a while for public transportation.
Here is another shot of the lot. That sign advertises drinks to go. You can get frozen drinks in giant economy sizes.
Here is a shot of the entertainment area. Bron’s has live entertainment weekly. Also, they have a late night bonfire. Coupled with those frozen drinks can you spell fun?
Here is a lounge area
Another close-up. You can see the live music sign on the left. Bron’s has to be the most fun cart rental store on the island.
So here is a shot of the cart lot on Saturday. Nothing but automobiles.
A few carts left, but mostly all gone.
Certainly more cars than carts. I checked some other places, and the results are the same. Here is one example.

Fiction Favorites 
This is another world to me, John. Here in the countryside (at 1850 feet altitude) our main companions are tractors and beef cattle.

What a fun before-after story. I live in a tourist area as well and can relate to the ebb and flow of traffic and activity. Sundays are usually quieter by early afternoon…hope that’s the case for you. 🙂

Great shots and fairly good research. If you were a government agency, you’d spend 10 years and several million dollars to come to the same conclusions.
So, can you down a few beers and then take off in a cart ? I’m thinking tourists on golf carts could be a crazy scene.

Same rules apply to carts as cars. Must be licensed (carts and drivers) and all laws apply.

Wait. They let you run dozens of golf carts up and down the beach? Are they limited to certain areas, or can they run free? Are there any golf cart-free zones for people who’d like to get out of traffic for the weekend?

The carts can go anywhere on the beach. They are restricted to city streets in town (no highway travel) Thaks, Linda.

Gosh, if I were from Texas, I would be vacationing on the North Slope of Alaska. It’s really cool there… so cool, we ran into a blizzard on the 4th of July. 🙂

Interesting… here, golf carts are used… on a golf course. I suppose having those instead of cars to visit an area makes it all the more pleasant!

Good morning, John,
Mary and I are not golf-cart people. We’ll either walk or drive. Next time, we’ll be able to easily walk from our condo to the beach. It’s close enough. I also intend to bring our bicycles for some physical exercise.
As to the skeleton: I saw one at the beginning of my ride on the Silver Comet Trail [ https://pitsfritztownnews.files.wordpress.com/2018/07/silver_comet_trail_0038_ldr_natural2.jpg ]. Not a very encouraging view at the beginning of a bicycle ride, isn’t it? But I made it to the end safe and sound.

A golf cart provides a cool means of getting around. I’m a bit surprised it’s the mode of choice for tourists but to each his own. Love the skeleton — perhaps hoping Halloween arrives soon and the tourists depart??!

Oh fun! Sorry I missed this John — but it was a good day for me to find it. If ever my head was going to spin around on my shoulders, leave my body and fly up to explode against the ceiling… this was it. 😉
I was looking at a listing for a place in an over 55 community somewhere in TX, and it mentioned a special garage for golf carts! I’d never seen that. Made me want a golf cart even though I don’t play. Just want the cart. LOL.

We live in an over-55 community and here people with golf carts use them to walk their dogs. Some of these same people could really use the exercise and most of the golf cart owners are closer to 55. Great photos, John.
