A slow week in the neighborhood so I thought I would go out on the beach and take a look at the different kinds of equipment folks are using for fall camping. It was a beautiful day, and I hope you enjoy the trip.
Not too many people at the beach.
An abandoned tent. I guess these people have enough money to avoid packing it up.
A pickup camper.
A towed camper with supplementary tents.
An RV camper.
A van camper. (A very dirty one at that.)
If you are a member of the polar bear club, you can use these showers.
I thought this was a nice shot of a resort beach set up.
A bus type camper with car towed behind.
Threw in a freighter leaving Port Aransas.
A larger tent.
A tiny trailer.
A parting shot of the morning Gulf.
Your final shot of the morning light on the water is breathtaking. I grew up in the desert but spent many years near the Pacific Ocean. Your photo brings me back to long walks at the water’s edge. Oh, how I miss that experience! 🙂

I’ve always been enchanted by the interiors of campers. It’s amazing what some of they can get inside. Good pictures, John. 🙂 — Suzanne

The beach sure does look empty, I’m surprised. It’s such a wide, clean beach – opposite what ours look like!!

When the tourests are away it is clean. Thanks, GP

That’s the kind of beach I enjoy…an empty one. The photos are beautiful, John. It looks like you’ve got some of our Carolina Blue skies! Thanks for sharing. Happy Sunday!

Our skies are generally blue too. Thanks, Jill.

Surprised someone would abandon a tent, but I’m sure it happens here too. Still, how do you forget something that big?

I think it is an element of lazy or drunk. Not forgotten just left.

All shapes and sizes. I remember being in a tent at campgrounds when one of those big rigs would take the site next to us. Makes you feel all small and rustic.
I love the photo with the sun’s rays blazing through and, of course, the freighter.
Does this mean you’re walking around better?

I have no problems walking although I did take the golf cart on this excursion. I’m using the lawnmower and riding my bike as well.

Good morning, John. I really enjoyed this stroll. Some of those look like they’re going in style. I could deal with that kind of camping. 😉 I liked the one with the nice lounge chairs in front. Beautiful shots of the beach, clouds, and the freighter too. Have a sublime Sunday, my friend. Mega hugs.

Beach camping’s not my thing, especially in a tent. Does the city or someone compact the sand, or is it naturally compacted? Some of those heavy campers never would make it on Galveston/Brazoria beaches. They could get in, but getting out might require a little more effort than just turning the key and putting it in drive.

The city grooms the sand. We have had some huge high tides which serve to compct the sand. Thanks, Linda.

John,
Love your captures of the local flavors, and I have to admit . . I didn’t know disposable tents were a thing . . .

Yeah. It seems every year we have a few that are simply left.

I should go tent shopping in your neighborhood . . .

Not even cash and carry. Just carry.

I always wonder about the sand fleas at night. I know the wave sound woud be spectacular. Thanks, Mar.

I love camping, but also love the comforts of home, so prefer the RV. 🙂 I love the parting shot. I can almost hear the rhythm of the waves. Thanks for sharing, John!

Now John. May I lecture you on a missed opportunity for a crime novelist?! That empty tent. Go back to it. NOW why do you think it’s there? hahahahahaha

I don’t want to go back. There is a severed hand in there.
