Thursday – A little Personal – Sunny Day in the Yard

Lucy, Bailey, and Twiggy

“So, Dad. Where are Lucy and Bailey?”

“They are coming, Twiggy.”

“Gee whiz, Lucy. You guys think I have all day.”

“Bailey is still finishing her lunch. What do you ve in mind?”

“I thought we could play some ball.”

“Yeah, That sounds good. This sun feels good.”

“You are wandering around. What’s the deal?

“I’m doing my stretches. I don’t want to pull a muscle chasing you.”

“That is a great idea. I guess I should do the same.”

“There you go Little Stuff. It’s good for the legs.”

“Wait, Lucy. You are going too fast.”

“A couple of times around the yard is good for the wind.”

“I have to stop, Lucy. My little legs have to work twice as fast as yours.”

“Good thing I have super brakes, Small Stuff. I could have run right over you.”

“I want to kiss you for helping me exercise.”

“Not on the lips, Little Potato. Not on the lips.”

“Hey, there’s Bailey. Glad you could make it.”

“Yeah me too. Pops was trying to give me a pill, but I out foxed him.”

“Bailey, did you toss that pill over here?”

“Don’t let Pops see it. He’ll do the gavage thing on me.”

“Lucy, Forget the pill. Where is Twiggy going with that jolly ball?”

“Beats me. Hey, Twiggy don’t you want to play with us?

“You better go after her. I think she wants to play keep-a-way.”

“This could be fun for sure.”

“Hey, Bailey. You going to play?”

“If you two come back here, yes. You know I’m not as strong, and we have to keep that in mind.”

“What do you think, Little stuff?”

“Yeah, let’s go where Bailey is. It will be more fun with all of us playing.”

“Good choice.”

  6. I think a little sunshine and playtime is just what the doctor ordered for Bailey. It’s so nice to see her romping with her buddies. Loved this, John!

  7. I’ll bet it’s interesting to watch Lucy and Twiggy adapting to Bailey’s changed circumstances. There’s no question that they pay attention to one another. And thank goodness for some sun, at last!

    1. The sun is most welcome. They do pay attention and Twiggy seems to understand that Bailey is not fully up to a ruckus.

  9. So nice to see all three of them back in the yard playing again. What an adorable trio they make.
And I envy you all that sunshine. We’re expecting 3-7″ of snow, followed by ice today. Blech!

    1. Ugh, Mae. Our temps are low 50’s and we complain to any one who will listen. You have my permission to not listen.

      1. Low 50s? And as I look out the window there is a ton of white stuff on the ground, and it’s still coming down. I don’t suppose you want to trade? 😉

Rookie has game, she already understands the value of stretching.

Hugs to all of ’em, an extra squeeze for Bailey.

  12. Always one of the highlights of my week. We have to outsmart ours too over the pills.

    1. Bailey has so many to take it is a nightmare sometimes. I used to be able to grind the biggest and most offensive pill and suspend it in baby food which she would take off a spoon. No more. No, I have to take the suspension and put it in a syringe. Can you say clamped jaw? It’s like trying to force feed a crocadile.

      1. We use two pieces of lunchmeat. The first one has the pill, which they wolf down to get the second one. That little bit of greed really helps.

      2. Baily won’t take cheese or meat. She has some kind of sixth sense about these things.

      3. I had one like that years ago. I used to throw him down and shove it down his throat. I don’t think I’m young enough to do that now.
