Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

“Lucy. It’s Friday.”
“I’m ready Little One.”

Ah, another Friday which is another word for par-teee. Always nice to see the eve of the weekend.  I hope your week was a good one. Gwen Plano and I received our manuscript back from the editor and were both impressed with the quality of work. She did a marvelous job taking our text and helping the story. Of course, Gwen and I tried to write a book all while having surgeries. I would not recommend that profile to anyone.

As we say, all is well that ends well and we are now hopeful of having a book that folks will enjoy reading. We decided to go with a mystery story rather than a thriller.

The title is The Predator a world domination fight to the finish.

Here is a preliminary blurb:

After the death of Brad and Sarah, it is apparent that a force is behind a plot to take over the leadership of the world. The murder of the two becomes only one small piece of a sinister plan to eliminate world leaders and take control.

Governments are infiltrated with the perpetrator’s allies and minions so no one can be trusted.

A small band of Brad and Sarah’s admirer’s vow to stop the evil expansion and eliminate the leader. The group comes under attack, and the question becomes will they survive and stop The Predator before the word is lost?

Today’s JohnKu talks about trying to do too much. I hope you have a great weekend.

      1. Yanno… for those of us who don’t hold a full-time job (at least not in winter, for me) hump day can be any day we declare it to be 😉
Thank you, kind sir… I shall do my best!

  6. How exciting for you and Gwen. And written while both of you were having health issues? That’s to be doubly commended. Your John-Ku is spot-on. We could all benefit from taking that advice.

    Happy weekend.

    1. Happy Weekend, Staci. Our bodies try to tell us to take it easy. The brain has a difficult time listening sometimes.

  7. I’ll affirm the wisdom of your haiku. This was the week for my first root canal. It’s hardly major surgery, and it went well, but before I got it done? My body was speaking — and you’d better believe I was listening! I’m glad you’re satisfied with the editing, too. It occurred to me that the thing about books is, they come to an end. Here’s hoping life imitates art!

    1. Thanks, Linda. I winced on the phrase, “Root Canal.” To quote Marathon Man, “Is is safe?”

  13. Firstly, love the blurb.

Mostly, hope you guys are taking care and listening to your bodies on the other side of surgery. Because your haiku is righter than spring rain, you have to listen. The alternative, it sucks.

  16. Exciting blurb! I’m guessing there will be plenty of angst, considering the surgeries you went through and the subject matter.
Your haiku is one we all need to take to heart.

  17. Such wonderful news about your book with Gwen — I’m sure it will be a hit! You know, of course, that most of us find all sorts of excuses *not* to do work on a given day, much less on a day when surgery is on the agenda. Here’s hoping that went well, too!

  19. Sounds an interesting read. I’m impressed you could find time to write while having surgery… and even more impressed you can collaborate on a book. I don’t think I could ever write with someone else 😳
