Today is a sampling of some things. I started with the idea of face boards and then got a little distracted with other things along the way. I hope you enjoy today’s tour.
Here is a face board for a storage facility. You can also see their Farley boat.
This is in front of our vet’s office
Stingrays is a restaurant and bar
This is the Gaff’s face board. Notice that annoying fender in the way.
The fender belongs to the Gaff staff car
Of course, there are belt sander races this weekend. No, we are not going.
I love this blessing box.
A little lending library too.
The front of a gift shop.
Oceans of Seafood. A bar and restaurant.
A reminder of what can happen if you are not careful.
Coastal Ed’s Gold Cart rental
The tackle shop
The souvenir shop
A dolphin in the parking lot. Blown off the building by Hurricane Harvey.
A giant chambered nautilus sharing the fate of the dolphin.
Wilton’s Candy board
Winton’s door showing the water line of Harvey.
This one is for Craig Boyack and his Voyage of the Lanternfish pirate fantasy story.
A lovely story of the Sand Dollar.
Lovely sampling, John. The Blessings Box is a loving thing to have. Hugs for you. Xx

I could not imagine two feet of water running through my store. They were one of the first places back in business too. Thanks, Gwen. Hope you have a great day as well. 😊

Love the signs of your neighborhood. It kind of reminds me of the imagination of the fishing island I was born on and their mailboxes!

Potpourri is the perfect word for this stroll around town. Seems many enjoy the face cut-out boards. Could a future post be of the belt sander races?

I’ve done the sander races twice. Not sure folks can handle another episode. Thanks for the suggestion though. 😊

These are awesome. Love the second one because it shows the vehicles. Even went to YouTube for videos. Amazing … even in other states … and there is a Belt Sanders Racing Association! … I like your track! … thanks for the links!!!

I’ve never seen so many face boards in one place, but my favorites have to be the painted waterline and Gaff’s truck. The dolphin and chambered nautilus remind me of the parking lots of various marinas here after Ike — except in that case, it was sailboats that were scattered around. Well, and there was the Mercedes that ended up in the pool at Portofino marina, and the French provincial love seat that got pulled out of a slip, and…and…

I echo what other’s have said about the ‘blessings’ box, John. It’s a great idea. I can see myself being photographed at the Chilla’s face board. What a hoot!. Were you not tempted?

Of course I was tempted but was the only one there. A selfie is hard without a selfie stick. Thanks, Hugh.

Thanks for thinking of me, John. There are a few places there I wouldn’t mind hanging out. Face-holes in signs are a good idea. Let’s the wind blow through when the storms come.

Yeah… Harvey won’t soon be forgotten there. Sorry for the continued reminders, John.
The face-boards are so fun! That one at the vet’s office begs for the faces of you, Lucy, and Twiggy.
Happy weekend hugs!

Wonderful potpourri (perfect title, as well). Who’d a thunk there were so many face boards in one place? Love, love, love the Blessing and Library Boxes.
You really do live in a groovy town, John.

I am one of those people who likes to take pictures when I come across faceboards:) What a great collection of them. That poor dolphin still on the ground though, but I love the legend of the sand dollar. Thanks for the fun tour.

Great photos, John! I love all the boards, but the little lending library and blessing box take the prize! I have a friend who manages a bar there in Port A, a place called Coconuts. If you ever stop in for a drink, tell Mark Alan Atwood you are a friend of mine. 🙂

Gee I have not heard of the bar. I don’t get out much so I’ll have to find out where it is. I’ll definately go in and say Hi. Thanks, Jan

I love the idea of a blessings box, John. That and the little free library are pretty cool. I can’t believe you don’t have a tricked-out belt sander ready for the race. Maybe next year, you can pose behind each of these 🙂

I think this takes the prize for the most face boards I’ve ever seen in one outing!! Nice collection, John. I, too, like the lending library (we have a couple of those) and the blessings box (we don’t have any of those, though there are all sorts of outlets designed to help the needy!)

What a lovely colourful saunter. I too love the idea of the blessing box. We have boxes in shops to donate for the local food banks, but I like the idea of the blessing box, no official hoops to go through. I have no idea what a belt sander race is, but I see I can look that one up.
