Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy at Home

Twiggy and Lucy

“Twiggy why don’t we play with your toys.”

“Coming Lucy.”

“You want to chase me while I hold Ears.”

“Um. I was thinking more about playing with the Woodchuck.”

“Gee Lucy. We played with Woodchuck Yesterday.”

“Oh yeah. That’s right Little one.”

“Where you going?”

“Over to the futon.”

“Futon? What’s a futon?”

“It is something mom bought to take the place of our couch.”

“What happened to our couch anyway?”

“Remember when we moved we left it behind, and we needed something to sit on.”

“Oh yeah. I remember now. When are we getting a new one.”

“Supposedly today. In fact, I hear something.”

“You hear something? There is nobody there.”

“I know I thought there was. How about a ruckus?”

“Take that.”

“Man, Twiggy. You have a mean left.”

“You ain’t seen nothing yet.”

“My goodness two negatives wrong tense and a contraction. You better not let The Boss hear you.”

“He knows I’m still learning. Nice counter move, Lucy.”

“Thanks, Potato. You’ve got some good moves too.”

“Go ahead give me your best shot.”

“My best shot would put you in the hospital.”

“You Girls playing nice?”

“Yes, Boss we are.”

“Yes, Dad.”

      1. Full disclosure – Because this is the week of spouselessness, I have spent much time on future blog posts. While in Alabama, I wrote a lot on paper, so I’ve been transferring them from ink to electronic … and something I want to have done before she returns.

    1. No furnature equals space. Hopefully as time goes by they will lose some. 😀

    1. You are so right, GP. Lucy is an angel. She welcomed Twiggy from the start. Twiggy makes herself at home whereever she is as long as we are there. 😊

    1. We have tons of light. There are windows everywhere. The nice part is a lot of them (like in the bedrooms) are high enought that coverings are not necessary. Lucy and Twiggy like it here for sure. Thanks, Dale.

  11. Lucy and Twiggy fit the color scheme wonderfully well. I presume you bought the house to go with your dogs? It is amazing how adaptable animals are — it looks like they’re adapting to their new digs just fine.

    1. They love to romp in the house. Since there is very little furnature to get in the way they make good use of the space. Yes, we looked for a house that would coordinate with the pups. LOL. Thanks, Linda 😀

  12. Great photos of Lucy and Twiggy (I love when Lucy calls her Potato). I hope their new sofa arrives soon. Did you order some furniture for yourself and the Producer? Or are you keeping the futon?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. We are in the process. The producer has a plan and she is going room to room. I’m not sure what is going to happen to the futon. Might be a for sale item eventually. 😀

      1. We have a sofa in our family room that my wife picked out. The one being suggested by the salesman was ruled out because the arm was too high for the dog to put her head on (the setter before Maddie). The guy looked at us like we were crazy.

PS: I hope the new couch is doggie tested and approved.

    1. Thanks, Mary. Yes, after a number of years we have finally found the combination of color and texture that is doggie approved. There is a weave that resists hair and has elements of white and grey that make dog hair invisable. They arrived yesterday and we are very pleased. 😊

      1. Ooooh, I might have to look into that for two gray cats. Although the current leather couch has been just fine for not collecting hair.

  15. We put down vinyl plank flooring in grey. It’s dog proof and we love it. What’s with the pillar/wall thingie? I assume it’s load bearing somehow.

    1. We have 25 foot ceilings. That holds up a section of ten foot ceiling. Yes it is load bearing.

That’s right, John. You stay on top of that dog diction. We wouldn’t want no bad grammar mess’n up the blog.

Nice place, John…but it needs more doggy toys. You can’t get enough toys.

  32. A delightful visit with the pups, John. Wow the new house is sparkling. I wish I could say the same for the cottage. Even so it sparkles in my heart. 😀 ❤ It's not horrible but lots of ordinary cleaning to do. The walls inside are in dire need of paint. Once I finish all of that, it will sparkle for real. Meanwhile, train whistles and the hooting calls of roadrunners, and sunshine. And sunshine. And sunshine. Mega hugs.

    1. So you are there?

      1. Yes. Getting here was an ordeal… Left DC at 11 AM Sunday… got to new home 2000 miles later on Tuesday at 4:45 AM (pretending the same time zone). Today I’m contending with new homeowner glitches… like not having all the keys, the absence of trash cans, and the fact that the dryer won’t start. It would have been nice if my real estate agent had done *something.*
Anyhow, small beans in the scheme of things, just stressful.
