Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

“It is a beautiful Friday morning, Little One.”
“What should we do today, Lucy?”
“The sky’s the limit, Little Potato. The absolute limit.”

Another Friday and just have to say time flies. This seems to be the big lament. I’m happy to report the washer, dryer, and refrigerator arrived and are installed. I’m pleased to say we will not have to eat salted game and fish anymore. Okay, maybe I exaggerate a little. We do have a fridge in the garage that has met our needs quite well. It just seems that everything you need is out there and everything you don’t need is in here. I think you get the picture. Also stumbling over two cars to get to a quart of milk is a little inconvenient.

We seem to be getting closer to more of the things we need. Once you have clean clothes and ice, there isn’t much else. Well, we still need a dining room table. Ours arrived with two broken legs. That meant going back and getting a new one. We are still not sure when it will come. The dining room chairs are a way off as well. We are fortunate to have a kitchen island where we can sit and eat. The island stools were some of the first things to arrive so we lucked out.

All in all, things are coming along. This week’s JohnKu talks about patience which is one thing we have learned to embrace. I hope you have a rewarding weekend.

The harder we try,

The behinder we all get . . .

At least, so it seems.

I’m forever amazed by how little I’ve accomplished one day to the next. Could it be that this awareness is a product of age? Patience comes more naturally at least. 🙂 Great Johnku!

  7. I remember thinking of that saying, several times along the road, John. You guys are not only starting out in a new town, but it seems you’ve changed everything but the blog URL. It’s good to see the pups taking it in stride. Nothing like a Friday to bring it all home. I hope you have a great weekend.

  8. Happy Friday, John! When we lived in San Francisco, our apt was so small we didn’t have room for a table. We sat on the floor and ate off the coffee table. Of course, that was 30 years ago and our joints aren’t as young now as they were then 😉 Hope your table and chairs come sooner than you think! Have a great weekend❤️

  17. We started our day with a leak in the upstairs plumbing, causing water dripping everywhere. The ceiling has to be opened up to even find the leak. I am only thankful this is a rental. Im glad things are looking up for you guys.

  25. It sure feels that way to me too cleaning out, sorting things to keep, donate, or toss.

Did you move with PODS? We selected a mover who will move us all in one truck no sharing with anyone and get our stuff to us the next day. Sticker shock hurt, but it wasn’t as bad as I feared it would be.
We’re not taking our refrigerators or the dryer. I’ll get a smaller basic one for the garage, I have one in the new house already, and my gas dryer won’t work in the new house so, I get a new dryer. On the bright side, it helps to lower my dunnage!

    1. We got some bids and then I rented a truck. All told we saved $1000.00. I did move a refridgerator which was in our garage. We left everythng else behind and bought new here.

  29. I feel like I got in to the middle of things. Did you just decide you needed all the kitchen utilities? or was it the result of a disaster or fire. I figured the former until you mentioned the table whose legs were broken. And the chairs haven’t arrived yet … There is a third possibility. That life has just been happening to you.

Anyway, here’s to all the rough edges rounding out … unless, of course, you don’t want rounded edges. Oh, my!
