Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

“Okay, Little One it’s Friday. Time to ruckus.”
“You make the first move, Lucy. Then I’ll pulverize ya.”

Another fast Friday for me. Seems these weeks are flying. It becomes hard to remember just what went on for the week. I do know we received two area rugs which were welcome additions to the house.

We were pleased to get a permit and final approval for the fence. The company will start building about the 15th of May. They were totally booked by the time the details were worked out.

We had about one and a half inches of rain last weekend which pointed out the need for gutters at key points of the house. The rain came off the roof in torrents, and it was hard to get out the door without being drenched.  We need to find a gutter and downspout contractor.

Our landscaping plan includes a deck which will require a permit. So we are also in the hunt for a deck builder.

Like most things connected with a move there becomes a seemingly endless list of items.

Today’s JohnKu talks about how lists seem to grow on their own. I hope you all have a glorious weekend.

To Do Lists by John W. Howell

It starts with one thing,

Then just a small addition . . .

Soon too long to do.

Lol, nothing like those ‘5-minute’ jobs … before you know, hours have gone. Have a great weekend, John, and good luck with the projects 🙂

  3. I love the idea of you dodging a soaking as you come out the door. Will you get rainwater butts when you have the guttering done?

    1. I’ve been thibnking about that. Would be nice to water the garden with rain water. The problem is there isn’t much rain so storage could be a problem.

It seems there is always something needing to be fixed. Oh, the blessings of home ownership! For most, it could be overwhelming, but I suspect you’re kinda excited by the possibilities and the challenges. 😀 Great Johnku!

  7. Yikes. Sorry about the gutters. And the delay in the fence. Maybe your fence builders can recommend a deck builder.

Let’s focus on the positive, though. Yay, area rugs!

  10. You really have a lot of plans for the place. So exciting, though I know the waiting can be aggravating. The girls are going to have so much to explore 🙂

I hope you don’t get many more rains before the gutters can be replaced.

I thought of you yesterday. I heard on the radio that Austin, Texas has been designated the best place to live in the U.S.!

    Have an awesome weekend, John!

  12. Ugh. You would think when they built the house and put on the roof they would have added the gutters!
Your JohnKu’s are all foreshadowing of my own journey!
Things are coming along nicely, though.
Lucy better watch out. Little Potato looks primed 😉

  22. It’s the domino theory: home renovation version. Sometimes the best thing to do is just step aside and let the dominos fall where they may (or at least when). In the meantime, raising a bit of a ruckus doesn’t sound too bad. Ask the girls — they probably could offer some options.
