Another quick week. I think that life speeds up as one gets older. Yeah, we have all heard that. I guess that statement is my cliché for the week.
We had some notable arrivals. Two twin headboards for the guest room came in and look great. I pictured the rug for the master bedroom yesterday. Speaking of the master bedroom, we were notified that our bed would not be available until July. It was ordered in early March, and this is the second delay. So sayonara to the bed. The producer made another choice which should be here mid-may.
The producer also made a design decision on my office which I totally love. The bookcases and cabinets will be black and positioned on the back wall. A freestanding desk will be in the center of the room. I think it’s going to look great. I know I will feel good having a dedicated space.
I was invited to an event at the Bee Cave (one town over) library this weekend. It is in conjunction with Spring Fest (A Bee Cave event) and features seven local authors. I have a two-hour slot and look forward to visiting with potential new readers. I’ll take some photos and if okay used them on a Views post.
Today’s JohnKu talks about pleasant surprises. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Some come as a shock,
Others are like a given . . .
But all are welcome.
Frustrating on the bed, but it all sounds like it’s working out great, John. I’m with your dogs watching Friday coming down the driveway, lol. Love the poem. Have a great weekend 🙂

I’m glad to hear the Producer ditched the other bed. I love the photo of the girls, John. Happy Friday!

This was the second choice that got axed because of shipping delays. Thanks, Jill.

Sorry about the bed, but the office decor is good news. And so is the library event. Wishing you lots of luck with that.
Love the girls watching Friday come. So sweet.

Happy about your invitation and I hope all goes well, but as always – there is one hitch to moving and yours is the bed!! Remember the old line – one day you’ll laugh about all this!

We are laughing now. This is the third bed ordered. Thanks, GP.

Love, love the photo of the pups. It’s a classic that I’m sure Hallmark would love! Time does seem to pass us by more quickly as we age. It’s a bummer when the “to do” list just gets longer and longer. Have a great day and enjoy the book fest. 🙂

It’s Friday, John so forgive me for reading that as your having been invited to a “beer cave” event. The one you’re going sounds good, though. Sorry about the furniture delays. Good decisions on the part of the Producer. Pretty soon this place will seem like it’s always been there. Love the girls watching for Friday. I think it’s a day late this week.

I have to agree with the kids (and you too). Friday came with lightning speed this week! And now you have pleasant surprises awaiting, so . . it was probably rushing to get to you. 🙂

No, John, time is not tied to your age. It is tied to the age of your dogs. When you have puppies or young dogs, time moves slowly because they move fast. When you have old dogs, time moves fast because they move slow.
Einstein wrote about this, though he had a cat, not a dog, which renders his theories suspect.

I like the theory. Figures Eisstein would have a cat. 😀

That’s a beautiful shot out the window, John. The same view of the rainy day on yesterday’s post was lovely too.
I’m glad to hear the house is coming together, but sorry about the furniture delays. Have a fabulous Friday. Hugs!

I actually took this for WEednesday’s post but for some reason the post published without it. The caption read “Is that Friday coming up the drive?” “No little one it is only Wednesday. Friday is tow days off.” I changed the caption and ran it today.

I think it was wise of your wife to decide on a different bed. There seemed to be a problem with the first one. Everything else sounds like it’s going nicely. All the best, John. 🙂 — Suzanne
