Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Twiggy and Lucy

“Hey, you guys. It’s Friday. Let’s boogie.”
“They are ignoring us Little One.”

FRIDAY IS HERE. Goodness, that was my outside voice. It is good to see  Friday again.

Not too much new to report. I am still experimenting with Amazon on My GRL and lost money. My keywords were right. The Ad message was right. The bids were right if slightly too high. I got an unprecedented number of clickthroughs, but the actual sales were below expectations. I redid the blurb and continued. The only thing that has not been tweaked is the cover. I may have to consider a new cover but will do further testing to see for sure.

My office bookcases and credenza has arrived and only lacks a desk. I guess soon there will be no more excuses for not jumping into the WIP with both feet. Not sure on the desk arrival but it should be soon, so I have some procrastination room left.

Our bed is supposed to arrive on Monday. Now maybe we can get the box springs off the floor and the rug properly placed. Since this has been a two month deal thee are no breaths being held.

The fence guys put us off for a few days. We have had tons of rain, so it’s not a surprise. The landscape plan is done, and now we need some bids. The patio furniture is due for delivery within the next two weeks. We have a patio already in so we don’t need landscaping. Once the fence is in it will be nice to go onto the patio knowing the dogs won’t be able to get away.

Todays JohnKu talks about working your plan through to completion. (which is an objective we are getting near.)  I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

  2. Sounds like a lot has been going on. Amazon ads really aren’t what they used to be. I haven’t had any luck with them. People like to click and not buy.

    1. All th experts say it is a great way to make sales. I keep trying to figure it out. May never happen.

      1. I’ve heard the same thing. Maybe if you put thousands into it?

      2. Or pay the experts thousands to tell you how.

  3. Moving and resettling is so much fun …. NOT! Seems you’ve done a lot to date, but you are in waiting mode. Good luck … and it will be done … soon!

Gosh, Texas has been hit hard with storms. I suspect the pups are craving sunshine and dry earth, and you with them. The JohnKu for this week captures your determination, how can you not succeed. Soon, all will be in place. 🙂

  7. I know you’ll be thrilled when all the projects are done and you can just enjoy your property (work and rest spaces). I hope it happens soon for you.

Sorry about the Amazon ads. Wish I had a suggestion for you.

And tell the girls I didn’t ignore them! How could anyone ignore those faces? I didn’t boogie, but I smiled.

    Happy weekend!

  9. I don’t know — sometimes a little pause in the forward movement isn’t bad. With a good portion of Houston under water last night and this morning, it occurs to me that “turn around, don’t drown” could apply to more than life on the roads!

    1. I like the way you think, Linda. A pause is usually a good thing. Thank you. Happy Weekend.

  10. Wow, you are juggling a lot with the house. Of course, every completed project has to feel extra special because of the waiting time. I am not a good waiter. Of course some times there just aren’t options!

The new office sounds very exciting. Here’s hoping all the projects fall in place for you as quickly as possible. Rain doesn’t help. We’ve been drenched with it here too.

    Have a great weekend, John!

    1. Thank you, Mae. The rain seems like it is never going to end. Of course I know that isn’t true but it does seem that way.

  11. Sounds like momentum even if it’s slow. Excited for you to get your office assembled. I keep watching for a post where someone (anyone) tried one of the various ad campaigns out there and killed it. Never seem to see any of those posts.

  15. Lots of progress made on your settling in phase, John — kudos! Wonder why we writers seem to grab any “excuse” when it comes to writing?? I do it, too. It’s frustrating, but as Linda said, sometimes a pause is good and necessary. Pat yourself on the back for how much you’ve accomplished … despite the rain delays and so forth!

      1. I have the same problem with mine. I’ve been blaming it on “sophomore slump,” but realistically, it’s just not going where it needs to right now. Probably needs more simmer-time!

  18. More progress!! Pushing through seems to be the theme. Yes, we’ve had tons of rain so anything that remotely involves outside projects has to be put on hold for a while.

  21. The Johnku is perfect. It’s hard to stop when you know there is so much to do.
It sounds like the furnishing and everything is coming together, even is taking longer than expected. I hope you’ll share photos of the finished work of art. 🙂

I’ve put the rest of my furniture acquisitions on indefinite hold. But I have the most important basics now. I could have furnished two rooms for what it cost to get my piano here… but hey, it’s my piano. LOL. 😀 TGIF hugs!
