Lakeway Park is celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary. As is fitting there was cake, kite flying, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The day was beautiful with temperatures in the high seventies. Come walk with me.

Gotta have ice cream.
Shave ice and water too.

Lovely area, John. How wonderful it is that you and the producer are surrounded by beauty and a great community! What joy! 🙂

A lovely park, John. That’s quite a new community. I’m guessing it was ranch land before as much in Texas was. Good pictures. 🙂 — Suzanne

The eagle kite is fabulous. I’d love to try flying that one. That’s quite a modern ice cream truck, too. I hope they were selling the real thing as well as soy-based, sugar-free stuff!

Yes, it was the real thing, Linda. We are in the burbs where life remains pretty much the same as in the eary 60’s. 😁

John,
A couple thoughts off the top . . .
What a picture postcard day for an event like this! As if the weather person made a backroom deal with Mother Nature or something.
I am always in awe of how some families take grief and use it for the greater good of countless others. As with the Colin’s Hope Organization. It’s a testament to the human spirit, indeed.
That Eagle kite rocks! I remember flying kites as a boy. It was SO much more fun than video games.
Does the Marvel Universe have room for “Ice Cream Man”?

LOL on Ice Cream man. The real guy looked like a Marvel character. Colin’s Hope does a lot of good work with swimming lessons etc. Thanks, Marc.

What a fun outing — thanks for taking me along, John! You had a gorgeous day for the celebration (about time, too, after all the rains there). The bird kites are really pretty, way nicer than the kites I remember from childhood!

Me too. My kites were 10 cents. Used to crash a dollars worth during the summer.

You’re still near the water! That’s lovely, and it looks like it was a beautiful day and everyone looked like they were having a great day out in the sun.
Gotta have ice cream!
Both my children were lifeguards all through High School, and their early years in college and taught me drowning doesn’t look like it does on T.V. It’s really silent. Colin’s Hope is doing good work educating people on water safety!
