Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy Enjoy Freedom

Lucy and Twiggy

“Hey, Lucy. There is a backyard out here.”

“It’s been here the whole time, Little One.”

“Lucy, look. There is a fence all around.”

“I know. That is for your and my safety.”

“Race you.”

“OMG, you don’t stand a chance.”

“Yeah? You are going down you big ole moose.”

“Names won’t help you win, Potato.”

“Look at this dirt.”

“I hear we are getting grass soon.”

“My goodness. A lot of outdoor furniture.”

“Better not jump up on that couch, Lucy. Those paws look like asphalt.”

“What are you doing down there, Twiggy?”

“I’m practicing my puma approach to unsuspecting prey.”

“Bett do something to lower your butt. Looks like a white flag in the wind.”

“Tha grass can’t come too soon, Lucy.”

“That’s what Mom says, too, Little one.”

“Ah, fresh water. Fresh air. It doesn’t get any better than this.”

“After grass, it will get better. How do I get these mud pies off my feet?”

      3. Well…even without painting the fence is fantastic! Then let’s wait for all the design to be made. You have a lot of work to do yet. Moving is a true disaster! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Robbie. It seems slow but there is progress. The fence is the biggest relief since we can let the pups run and only have to contain them after a rain.(mud city)

  8. They will unquestionably prefer the grass. When does it arrive? Sod or seed?

    1. The whole yard will be in within three weeks. (we hope) The architect is working the design now. The grass will be sod.

I love the dialog between these two, John. Will you be rolling out instant green or growing grass from seed?

    1. Going to have two separate areas. The grass will be sod and run along the back to the right. The other area is to the left and will be a patio and crushed granite walkways. Much like the coast, we need dog play area and people contemplate area. I’m looking forward to the plan which is being done now.

      1. I keep a big towel right by the door. That and a rug pick up lots before I have to hunker down and wipe. Better rain than the snowballs Dallas brings in during the winter though!

    1. We are having permanent ones pourd. Those are temporary since Twiggy can’t jump up and Lucy shouldn’t. We did need them right away if we were going to get any use out of the yard. Thanks Linda.

  21. That fence is going to keep them entertained for a while, and then the grass . .and all that outdoor furniture. While mom and dad have cable to entertain them, the kids have all these things. I’d call it even. 🙂

    1. We will be sodding as soon as the architect has the plan finished. Talking 10 days for the plan. Then who knows how long before they can start.

      1. Twiggy and Lucy will be excited. Sod is a good way to go when you’re pretty much starting from scratch. And who wants all that mud for the entire summer! Plus, the dogs need to run and play.
