Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Twiggy

“Tell Lucy it’s Friday and time to play.”

A little bit of a short week. I hope everyone came through the birthday celebrations in good shape.

Lots of good stuff happening around here.

The gutter guys showed up on the third and finished the job on quote and on-time. I have to give them a super review.

I managed to keep the 1000 words a day on my WIP. There is a ton of research needed and so I was happy to be able to go forward. As of today, I have over 14,000 words.

The cement guys were postponed until next week. The contractor gave me the best excuse I ever heard. One that has no comeback. “I want to be there when the concrete is poured so I know it’s done right and I have to go out of town this week” What could I say? “Pour anyway and the heck with it done right or not?” I was speechless.

Today’s JohnKu pays tribute to that excuse. I hope your weekend is wonderful.

Can’t Do It by John W. Howell © 2019

When you ask why not?

There is only one excuse. . .

The sky is falling.

  3. I love the excuses some of them come up with. You’re right, John, how do you respond to that one. Yes, the sky is always ready to drop, and the government can read minds. That’s why I always wear my hard hat constructed from tinfoil. 🙂

  5. You’ve brought back one of my favorite bits of wisdom: there are only two possible answers to any question that begins, “Why?” One is “Why not?” and the other is “Because.”

  10. Well, there was some progress. Take the win where you can, I suppose. (Construction always takes forever, doesn’t it?)

  11. I guess it’s good the cement man wants to be there. It that went wrong it would be really hard to start over. It’s great you got a lot of work done on your latest book. Have a great weekend, John. 🙂 — Suzanne.

And that dude is definitely a professional. A professional what, I’m not quite certain . . .

  14. At this point that one week delay seems minor with all of the other waiting you’ve done.
Exciting news with all the progress—in the writing department, too. Happy Friday, John!

  18. Ah come on, John … You give the impression that all Twiggy wants to do is play. Well, besides beside preventing an attack by deer or delivery trucks.
