Ah, delicious Friday. Eight more hours till Saturday eve. I hope your week was a good one.
If you looked in on yesterday’s post, you know we are getting some action on our yard. The way it goes is one day of furious activity and then one day of nothing. I’m sure you all have had the experience of doing business with busy contractors. They have several balls in the air, and so one has to go with the flow. We are supposed to get grass today, but I seriously doubt it since the concrete needs to be poured before the sod. Yeah, yesterday was supposed to be concrete. We shall see.
On my WIP I managed another 1000 per day week. So, now I’m over the 21,000-word mark. The characters are starting their “Let us take the wheel,” program which they always do at this time. The male protagonist wants to go to Wimbleton and find himself on the court facing Roger Federer. I’m not sure that’s going to happen, but it is a fun thought.

I suspect a contractor’s calendar looks quite different from ours. The steps might be sequential but the timing baffling. The hidden miracle is – you are making notable progress on your book. YAY!

I did the contractor thing for a while. You’re lucky you have one that eventually come back. I filled in for a couple who just moved on without a word. I’m going to take Lucy’s advice, again. I think I’ll wait for someone else to start the activity today and then I’ll join in.

I’ve still got my balcony cleared for the pressure washers who were supposed to do their work on Wednesday. We’ll see. Jokes always are based in some degree of reality, and it’s the same with contractors: southern, or otherwise.

I remember John Cannon (of the trilogy) wanted to carry a gun and shoot someone. I gave him the chance and he threw up. Never to ask again.

Way to go, John. 21,000 words means you are have gone too far to stop now! What’s the goal? 100,000? 125,000? Or, if you are like me, about 150,000.
