Twiggy and Lucy don’t like the heat much. They are both sub-snout dogs and shouldn’t be in the weather because it is very hard on them to be able to vent correctly through panting. Does that mean they don’t want to go out? You be the judge.
“Hey, Lucy. Come here.”
“What Little One? I’m busy scratching my ear.”
“Do you see em?”
“I don’t see anything.”
“Look harder. Over there past the lamplight.”
“Sorry Potato, but I don’t see anything.”
“Just turn your head slightly. They are right there.”
“Okay. I still don’t see anything.”
“Maybe we are at the wrong window.”
“So let’s go to the Boss’ office.”
“There. Lucy, Do you see it?”
“Is that a squirrel?”
“Oh, boy lets go get it.”
Not so fast ladies. According to my watch it is 101 degrees out there. You’ll have to wait a little. Also, it looks like the DOW has reacted to the interest rate cut. But that’s not your worry”
“Aw, dad. We just spotted some interesting game. What is a DOW?”
“Never mind the DOW. Besides the temperature, the squirrel is in the front. You never go out front without a leash.”
The man makes sense, Little one. I think I’ll catch 40 winks.”
“Yeah, I could use a few myself. I’ll bet a DOW is something fun to chase.”
Sorry, Twiggy, the DOW is not fun to chase.
I love the picture with her standing up next to Lucy, John. I hope you guys get a break from the heat. I imagine it’s much different inland than it was at the shore.

It is so much hotter here. We are in for ten more days at least. At the Coast, it would get to 89 degrees as a high. At least here it will go down to 75 at night. The Coast stayed pretty much in the 80s

I hope you can stay cool and the girls don’t go crazy.

Wow, John, that’s a pretty fancy watch. Since I retired, I no longer wear one. I love Twiggy’s comment, “I’ll bet a DOW is something fun to chase.” She puts it all in perspective. 😀

Yes, she does. Thank you, Gwen. My watch does everything. Answers my phone, keeps track of my exercise, and yells at me if I sit too long. I love it.

Poor doggies. Though I’m sure they’re happier indoors. Just dreaming of chasing DOWs that can’t stay on their feet.

Very nice, John. I tend to share Twiggy’s view on the Dow “something nice to chase.”

Thank you, Roberta. Chase, yes. Get caught by, not so much. 😄

LOL, A lot of people chase the DOW!!

it is so true. Sadly it is like chasing a car. The ending when you catch it may not be as one expects. 😄

101? That is some nasty heat you have going on down there, John. I’m glad the girls realized it’s better to stay inside—and also remain blissfuly unaware of the DOW!

It is serious heat. They tend to take outside in small bursts on days like this. They should never find out about the DOW.

Really best to stay inside these days, isn’t it? But then, once in a while doggies need to go outside.

Yes, they do. Only for a few minutes and not much chasing. Thanks, Pit.

I’m with the girls – I don’t like the heat much either. They’re better off inside with the AC.

I have to agree. At the coast, it would get to maybe 89 degrees. This is much hotter. Thanks, Teri 😊

Those pictures are fabulous, John. I can’t help smiling at the girls’ antics. And uh….101? Stay inside, for sure!

Yes. Good advice, Dale. Not even a frozen margarita can stand up to that heat. (Renamed- a margarita slushie)

Tell me about it… I make them daily at the golf club this summer. So refreshing in this hot and humid heat we are also living through. Part of my day is spent indoors at the bar and the late afternoon to evening is on the terrace, melting as I serve… ugh.

I’m not complaining about the heat. Merely making a statement ..😉

K… ugh might mean not too thrilled with the humidity, however; that does not mean I’m in any rush to freeze my tuckus off!

I’ll accept that. Ugh could mean you are tired of the sweat in your eyes.

Nothing gets past your watchdogs–pun not really intended–, John. Cripe, your temperature is getting as high as ours was for a while. It’s monsoon now so it’s in the 70s. Good pictures. 🙂 — Suzanne

I think so. Most of these photos were taken before 7:00 AM so you are getting the effect of the morning sun. Thanks, Jo

We suffered through one of those a couple of weeks ago, and yes, it was brutal. A double-coated dog like Dallas definitely doesn’t need to be out in it. We’re lucky in that we at least got a cold front to blow through and cool things down a bit — sorry we couldn’t share it with you!

Well, this winter I won’t be able to share a warm front when you hit below freezing so I think we are even. Thanks, Debbie.

That’s like a Dick Tracy watch! The girls look so cute together looking out the windows.
I hope the evenings and mornings cool down so they can get out to play a little and chase squirrels which is much better than chasing the DOW.

Definitely a Dick Tracy kind of watch. My furred babies get a chill at 85 degrees. They are southern cats through and through. That said, all they is sleep through, much like Lucy and Little Potato 😉
