“So where are you taking her?”
“Just here in the bathtub, Lucy.”
“Lucy. Call the ASPCA. I think this is cruelty.”
“Hang in there Little One. It’s just a bath.”
“You should see this stuff in the bathtub.”
“it’s shampoo to make your white hair bright.”
“Lucy it was horrible in there.”
“Did you get a nice towel rub down? Then it could not have been too bad.”
“Ok, Boss. Why the harness?”
“Time for Twiggy’s physical.”
“I love the car, Mama.”
“I know you do.”
“Look over there. People.”
“Yes, there are people on this planet, Twiggy.”
“Where are we?”
“This is your new doctor. She has a Frenchie too.”
“Good looking dog on that sign.”
“Yes. That is a nice looking dog.”
“Boy oh boy. A technician. Let’s be friends.”
“You are going to have a little blood drawn, Twiggy.”
“Not so bad right?”
“No, but you would think they would have a pink bandage. Blue is for boys.”
“This is your doctor, Twiggy.”
“Hi. Pleased to meet you. I hear you have a Frenchie.”
“I do, Twiggy. You can bet I’ll take good care of you.”
“Okay, but why the needles?”
“For your protection.”
“What are we waiting for Mama?”
“We have to make sure you are okay before we leave.”
“I’m fine. How about a treat?”
“I think the doctor will give you one cause you’ve been a good dog.”
“Good. Then can we go?”
“Yes, here she comes now.”
So delightful! ♥♥

Scooter: so after my bath, can I roll around on a dead skunk?
….
Scooter: but why not?

Ha haha. So typical. Lucy would roll in the dirt in the flower beds at the coast. Here there is only grass and rocks. (both pretty clean)

Twiggy was so good. I suspect Mama had something to do with that. ♥ BTW, the car seat is pretty amazing!

It is a great seat. Twiggy can see around and still be contained. There is a hook for her harness. Thanks, Gwen.

Twiggy looks miserable in the tub, lol. Sounds like she had a good vet appointment. My son took his cat yesterday, and they had to call in reinforcements during her shots. She was not pleased.

Ha haha. All may cats were the same way, Teri. We finally caught on to putting a pillow case up to their necks. They could then shred the case instead of our arms. 😀

Love the story! I’m sure, Twiggy is her old self again by now.
Have a great day,
Pit
P.S.: Our little Harriet was at the vet’s yesterday, for her booster shot, and she didn’t seem to min at all – except for being in the carrier during the trips. But her usual nosy self at the vet’s.

Twiggy is very active at the vet. She want to see and meet everyone. Thanks, Pit

If we had allowed Harriet to hop down from the examination table, she would have run around everywher and explored every nook and cranny, I’m sure, 😉

My dogs are “water” dogs and they both look at us like that when they get baths. Twiggy’s booster seat is so cute. And I don’t think I ever saw her tongue wagging before. Adorable!
Glad the vet visit went well. 🙂
Thanks for the Thursday smiles.

Aw, I trust everything went well for Twiggy’s vet check. Dallas was at the groomer’s yesterday, and I’d like to be a fly on the wall if he and Twiggy ever compared stories! Still chuckling over her darling pet seat — Dallas commandeers the entire back seat … and just dares anybody to challenge him for it, ha!

Yes, the visit was the annual visit. Boosters etc.Twiggy has to be contained while in the car. She would be jumping everywhere and no doubt get hurt. Bigger dogs than Twiggy seem to have a way about them when it comes to cars. Thanks, Debbie.

What a cool booster seat for the car! Zeke and I are going on a road trip tomorrow to stay at a friend’s cottage. I’ll be off the blogs for three whole days. I’m forcing myself not to bring my computer and just let go of it all. Though I’ll still have my cell and iPad, so…. I might sneak a peak here and there! 😉
Twiggy doesn’t seem to mind going to the vet’s at all.

I hope you have a super trip. I’m glad you told me you were going off the grid. I would have wondered what happened to you. Twiggy normally hates the vet. She starts screaming the minute we hit the door. This time she was very good. I guess she is maturing. Thanks, Dale.

It’ll be short and sweet. Wish it was longer but I’ll take what I can get!
Not many animals like it. Zeke is not a fan…

Twiggy certainly earned treats for being a good patient. And purple shampoo to keep her coat white – just like any other lady! Hope the vet visit was just for a check-up and lab work was good.

The looks Lucy was giving you as you prepped Twiggy were priceless! I love how she was curious as to what was going on, WITHOUT getting too close to the bathroom door herself.
Twiggy deserves a pink bandage!

Lucy backed away from the door when the water went on. She knows better. She does deserve a pink bandage.

Adorable, John. I agree with Twiggy, the new vet must get pink plasters for a girl. I personally like the Disney princess ones.

Looks like a good visit to vet. I have a cat who loves to visit the vet and they all love him. He had a few surgies and illness as a kitten and got pretty spoiled there. Great seat for Twiggy in the car, too.

I had no idea there were car seats for dogs. That’s a clever idea — and much safer, for sure. My Dixie Rose could have taken some lessons from Twiggy. There was a reason every trip to the vet involved two statements: “The Devil Cat’s here!” and “Get the gas.” As she aged, the gas wasn’t needed any more, but she never matured out of her nickname. On the other hand, she loved water, and never got over jumping in the bathtub to splash around and play.

I can’t imagine a cat loving water. all of ours hated it. Never thought to gas the cats. Would not have these claw scars had I thought of that. Thaks, Linda.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Her vet said that they use the gas only on younger animals. Once they gain some age, the side effects can be worse than the claw marks.

Aww, Twiggy was such a good girl with that vet visit (although she did look serious forlorn in the bathtub). This was so cute. I think she deservers multiple treats and lots of love. I’m sure she got both!

Yes, she did. The vet gave her a treat and she promptly walked away from it. Twiggy knows what she likes and is not bought easily.😁
