Looks like we made it to Friday. I hope your week was a good one. I can’t say much has been going on around here. We have had a full week of above 100 degrees F. Have to say it gets old after a while. Wednesday night we got a nice downpour. It was totally out of the blue. Not forecasted. It seems the big high-pressure area that sat over us all week moved slightly to the west. Nature abhors a vacuum so in rushed a little cold front and there we had it, rain.
I managed to keep the 1000 wood a day pace on my WIP this week. I’m currently at over 47,000. That means I did a little better than 1000 a day. I usually target about 90,000 so I’m a smidgeon over half way to a completed first draft.
Today’s JohnKu talks about unforcasted events. I hope you all have a super weekend.

It would be pleasent,
If every surprise was good . . .
Too bad some are not.
We’ve had temps close to 100 all week, John. I don’t mind the heat, but the humidity is so oppressive. You’re right though, it does get old. I’m ready for a taste of fall air…not cold though. Sounds like you’re making steady progress…great job! Happy Friday…I’m soooo ready for the weekend. π

I know how you feel about the weekend. Even we stay at home loafs enjoy a good Friday. (Tonight is pizza)

LOL! “Stay at home loafs!” I don’t know many loafs who write 1000 words a day. π Pizza…yum!

Wow, great progress on your WIP. Congratulations! Maybe the heat is helping you stay indoors and focused? Warm or cool, I suspect Twiggy is a bit of a distraction. How can anyone resist her plea for a playmate?

When the complaint is “I have nothing to play with,” and there are no less than 30 toys laying there, I guess I can. (Maybe) π

Weβve been swimming in 100% humidity for days on end, the old βair you can wear,β and I, too, am over it. Variety is the spice of life, right? Wishing you a lovey weekend, John.

Iβm with you on the hot weather getting old. Weird that nobody saw the rain coming, but we had one of those on Wednesday. Guess itβs just that kind of week. Enjoy your weekend.

Then the weather guys act like it was a freak accident that no one could have predicted. π³

There’s gifts in all surprises. Some we didn’t ask for, and most, somehow, thankful we received in the end.
Have a great weekend, John

Poor Twiggy . . . no toys to play with . . buahahaha!
I think every day is a surprise, and there’s a victory in that if you think about it.

That caption on Twiggy’s picture is perfection, LOL!
Congrats on your continued word count, and wow, hoping you get a nice long break from those 100 degree temps. We had several days of those a few weeks ago and it was terrible!
Happy Friday, John!

Poor baby, she needs a trip to Petsmart to pick her own toy. Feel free to send one of those downpours to Idaho. I’m actually ready for Fall.

Aw, poor Twiggy. Her toy-pile looks remarkably like Dallas’s. One nice thing about having a senior pup is they don’t demand new toys every time you leave the house!
Kudos on the WIP progress. Sad that I can’t claim the same. Maybe one day….

Our heat indexes have been as high as 110 this past week. Indeed, itβs old. Tuesday we had a thunderstorm that made temps drop 20 degrees … talk about singing in the rain π But it never lasts long (enough) π₯΅ Happy Friday, John, and I hope we all get some relief soon.

Oh, my gosh. Twiggy’s “lack of toys” and the picture you provided had me in stitches.
No, some surprises aren’t good. Wise words, indeed. Wishing you only happy ones.

That kind of heat would definitely get old. Pretty quickly, at that.
Every day should be a surprise! And if you can’t see it, look for it.
Happy weekend, John. And please, look at her face… just give the poor lass a toy, she is bereft! LOL!

We too had high nineties last week, but each afternoon we get a wind that helps lower it a bit or at least it feels like it, and the evenings have been cooling off for a couple of weeks now signaling a change of season is coming.
Looks like they have lots of toys, but like children, they too get bored with them after a while.
I hope it’s cooling off there, and you hit your target word count this week!
