“Twiggy. What are you doing?”
“Sush, Lucy. I’, spying on the neighbor.”
“Now, you know that’s not nice.”
“Well, it may not be nice, but it sure is interesting.”
“Wait. What’s that noise?”
“See, I told you.”
“Hey. I think I smell a deer.”
“There are hundreds of them running through the neighbor’s yard.”
“Let’s chase them.”
“Good idea. After you.”
“I think I hear the pounding of their hooves.”
“I’m sure you do.”
“Hold on a minute. I don’t hear them anymore.”
“I think they got away.”
“Darn. How did that happen?”
“Well, they are fleet of foot, you know.”
“I’ll bet they were never there.”
“You think? You may be catching on, Lucy.”
“You’ve been pulling my leg?”
“Such an easy leg.”
Twiggy got quite an imagination, doesn’t she? Now that’s what I call a privacy fence…nice, John.

A personalized peep-hole for Twiggy is a great perk for her. However, I just can’t imagine her kidding about deer. After all, if they were there, Lucy knows Twiggy couldn’t contain her excitement.

I’d say you have real Texas dogs. Riding the fences is a time honored and necessary task — they’re just making sure the fence is in good condition, so those hordes of deer can’t get in and help themselves to whatever provisions are around!

Lucy does humor Twiggy a bit so I’m not sure Twiggy really got away with that joke. Thanks, Mae. These two love it.

You are safe with those two riding the fences! They have a great yard to roam and enough sights and smells (deer?) to entertain them.

There are deer that run through the neighbor’s yard. In the photo, she is trying to see if the neighbor’sā dogs are out and if so she can bark her fool head off at them. Thanks for the comment, Steve.

Like here, the deer are everywhere. It used to be exciting to see them, now, itās fun but theyāre getting squeezed into very well developed neighborhoods.

Such an entertaining way to imagine them at the fence! They never stop being cute or entertaining though do they. š
Is there much “fence fighting” with the neighbor’s dogs? Diva Dog used to do that with one neighbor’s dog but the neighbor’s dog on the other side of the house she just sniffed and didn’t bark at it. The one she always barked at was a female, and the other one she didn’t care about was a male. Go figure?
The fence and yard look lovely. It came out really nice, and it looks like the girls are loving it.

Thank you, Deborah. There is a pit that lives behind us who does the fence fighting routine. Twiggy will join in if provoked. The neighbors usually call theirā dog off.

I’m glad they call their dog in or get it to quiet down.

Love your new fence, John — it’s really making the house feel like home! We had to put up a new one on our south side recently (the old one was falling to pieces), and it’s nice being able to hear the pit bull next door, without worrying he’s going to eat Dallas for dinner!
