What a week. It seemed to go pretty fast. I don’t want anyone wishing their life away, but I hope it moved quickly for you as well.
I started editing my WIP on Monday and was pleasantly surprised that the story still looked good to me. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I go back to things I’ve written, and they look like something that requires some starter and a match. I’m glad this one has salvageable parts.
I was delighted to get an excellent Circumstances of Childhood review on Thursday from Kevin Cooper. If you missed it, you could go HERE
I was also a guest of Teri Polen’s Bad Moon Rising. She asks some outstanding questions, and it is always a fun time. You could go HERE as well if you missed it.
I certainly want to thank Kevin and Teri and all of you who visited the posts. Thank you.
Today’s John Ku talks about encouragement from others. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. We are looking for temperatures in the 70s Whoo-Whoo.

You know John, I’m assuming you love to write as much as I do, and even at my most discouraging moment, one I’m actually having now, I remind myself, how lucky I am to have something I love so much. Love how you incorporate your doggies as if they were doing your actual editing.
I also admire your talent tp promote. Another area in which I am hopelessly rent. Good luck.

Susannah, you are right about loving to write. Nothing gives me quite so much pleasure and at times quite so much pain. When I get into the discouraging moments, I take a step back and concentrate on remembering all the wonderful things I have put on paper. The things that make me the proudest. Remembering a few of those helps me move forward. I also post short stories on my blog (like yours today) which clear the webs of doubt and allow me to get back to work. Not many know this, but the book I’m working on finally came to be after almost six months of dark doubt about my writing future. Sure I had some physical stuff that got in the way, but mostly it was my head that gave me the trouble. We all go through this crap. As to promotion. I am the worst. What I do is support others’ efforts and now and then they return the favor. I struggle every day with promotion and other than editing it is the bane of my existence. So be not deceived, we are in the same boat. Please pass me an oar and some of that hardtack over there. 😊

You’re probably one of the few who actually knows what hardtack is. I always say it’s like one of those hard baby biscuits that helps when they’re teething. Zweibacks?

I’m old enough to hve eaten hardtack. I tell people it is bread made out of concrete.

I saw my picture in the post office. I don’t think it was put there by a PR firm either. 😂Thank you for the lovely comment, GP.

Editing, to me, gives rise to a mass of conflicting emotions. I range from elation (wow – did I write that?) to depression (On God – did I write that?)

I know right? I don’t like editing so much, but sadly it is very necessary. Thanks, Keith.

Liked your comment, ‘writers work alone’, it’s so true. I’m just a casual writer who writes stuff that seems to stream into my head. Writing is hard and there is so much good content in WordPress that impresses the dickens out of me. Some writers post daily, or often, and I’m awed. Me? I have a tough getting something out each month. I should follow the comment about being alone, sit down and actually work harder at it, because it is fun, writing, that is. Have a great day!

You actually should do what feels good for Steve and not anyone else. If it takes a month so be it. What you do write has an impact on your readers so I would not worry too much about what others do. Thanks for the comment. Steve.

That is a perfect JohnKu! And it is so true. A positive comment to me is like getting handed a dozen roses! I can’t wait to read the new book. I know I am going to love it just because of the spiritual and paranormal aspects! So, I’m glad it didn’t get a match! 🙂

Thank you, Jan. 😁 There is always the possibility that what has been written might not hold up to the light of day. (as you well know) Always nice when it does.

As for the girls… I love how Twiggy sits on the one spot NOT covered by a blanket…

Yes. I’m glad you spotted that. She does it all the time. She rides the couch like a cowgirl.

And we wouldn’t want to do that on the blanket. She prefers bareback!!

I echo the sentiments above. You’re a JOY to all who know you, and I am honored to call you a close friend – even without the brush of hands. It would be so much fun to be neighbors, discuss, argue nicely, and throw darts at out writing. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your network of friends. 🙂 (Oh, by the way, Phoenix delayed for a week or so). Have a great weekend with your ladies!
