Now that it is close to Halloween, I thought you might enjoy some photos of a few of the decorations around the neighborhood. So here goes.
This shot was taken inside the Lakeway Activities Center. I guess these folks have been kept waiting a while.
You have to look hard at this one. There are dog and cat skeletons on the ground and a ghost in the tree.
A metal pumpkin on the mailbox.
A ceramic pumpkin on the mailbox
Fake deer in the front yard. (just kidding. They are real deer)
Some ghosts swinging in the trees Avec le fireplug.
Another metal pumpkin and witch’s hat.
Spider and web.
Hard to see large spider webs in the front yard.
A buck photobombing the picture.
Cool ghosts in the tree.
Ghosts and some kind of mailbox wrap with a spider on top.
Another Hollywood wanna be in the spotlight.
A glowing skeleton who lost his legs and a coven of ghosts.
Major spider infestation.
The last laugh is on us. I hope you enjoyed the little tour.
Great tour, John! I love your caption on the first photo. 🙂 Looks like everyone is getting into the spirit. I’m amazed by the deer lounging in the yard. They must feel really safe in your neighborhood. Are there woods nearby? Happy Sunday!

There are woods. The deer also love to lay in the sun and will usually pick a yard to do so. Thanks, Jill.

It’s always fun to see how folks decorate their homes. Other than planters of mums, I don’t do much of anything. The first photo is the best. It could be on permanent display in DMV offices. 😀 Happy Sunday to you and yours!

Hahahaha. The DMV should take these guys for sure. Have a super day, Gwen.

Well placed, tasteful decorations. And a few deer. I guess there’s no hunting in Lakewood, they seem not to have a care.

There is no hunting in Lakeway so the deer live in ideal conditions. Thanks, Dan

These Pictures are so wonderful John. Really. The deer. My favorite animal for all their strengths and weaknesses mirroring those who observe them.
The pumpkin like Humpty Dumpty sittin’ on a wall.

Thank you for the visit and comments. The deer are inspiring at times. Of course, they have the run of the place so they are also somewhat tame. 😊

Odd seeing the deer just hanging around. Are they afraid of people or not?
LikeLiked by 1 person
They are wary but not afraid. They carry a pretty big whollop with their hind hoves.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The weather’s fine and the ornaments are interactive and everyone is up for a good spirit or two.
Love the walk, Boss.
PS- Who knew Bucks were so good at photobombing?

I had a mule deer buck out my office window this week. That first image suggests an Inactivity Center.

Comparing your little buck to mine is interesting. Both deer, but different species.

Yours looks bigger. These are white tail.

Traditionally, mule deer are bigger, but some of those northern white tails can get huge.

Halloween with deer…what a strange company! Where is Santa?! 🙂 Thanks, dea John!

Indeed! They are grey! I got! These deer pretend not to be Santa’s but Halloween’s ones, dear John!

Even though I don’t decorate for holidays, I love seeing what other people do. Pumpkins seem popular but love the natural deer. And the couple still waiting!

I can’t believe the deer just roam around like they are in a petting zoo!
This is such a fun time of year when you have neighbourhoods that goes all out.

Yes, the deer just wander around. The bucks are chasing the does now.

I don’t often hop online on the weekend, so I really enjoyed these. What a fantastic tour. Halloween decorations are so much fun. And , wow—I can’t believe you have so many deer just hanging out and lounging in your area. That’s amazing!
We spied a red fox in our neighborhood yesterday. Strangely, my cat, Raven lost interest…..maybe because she realized it was too big to be prey!

Thank you, Mae. I would say a red fox is too big for prey. Our deer are like big dogs

You seriously have that many live deer roaming around your neighborhood?? Gosh, that’s a scary thought in itself. You know those things can be mean, don’t you?!! Thanks for the tour — I guess it goes without saying that the girls slept this one out at home, right?!!

You should see the eight-point bucks wandering around. Yes the girls slept this one out.

Given that deer season opens this coming weekend, those deer had better stay put. Honestly — I’ve heard that there are a lot of deer in Austin, but I didn’t realize there are a lot of deer!
I love the glowing skeleton. I had a glowing skull that fit on top of a pencil when I was in grade school, back in the days before such things (and the numerals on clocks) really were infused with radium.

I remember we had a lot of things that glowed in the dark. Gotta wonder about health and safety. Thanks, Linda.

Fancy mailboxes! Very upscale. Why do you have so many more deer than we do, when we’re far more rural? Maybe the deer like the neighborhood? Great decorations, especially the skeletons on the sofa. Happy Halloween, John. 🎃

I can’t explain the number. I guess just years of no predators is all. Texas has a lot of deer.

I love seeing Halloween decorations. It’s supposed to rain here on Halloween, so we probably won’t get many trick-or-treaters. That’s wild how the deer just hang out in yards!
