Thursday – A Little Personal – Cold Snap

A little personal

so here we are faced with going outside when it is freezing.

“Oh my gosh, Lucy it’s cold.”

“Yes, it is Little One. Good thing you have that sweater.”

“Okay, I have to run to stay warm.”

“Right behind you, Little Leopard.”

“Keep running.”

“But we have to stop eventually. We are out here for a purpose.”

“Makes sense. I’m ready to go inside.”

“Wait for me.”

“Puff puff. That was some run.”

“Feel warm, though, don’t you?”

“Yes, I do.”

“I must say you look ferocious.”

“Please don’t tell anyone I’m in a cat sweater, Lucy.”

“Your secret is safe with me. Look at the Boss. He has something.”

“I picked this off the lounge chair. It’s ice.”

“Ice? What the heck is ice?”

“Frozen water.”

“Well, you have two frozen pups, and if you don’t mind, we need inside. We like our water unfrozen.”

    1. She is not fond of it but when it is cold enough she’ll wear it. Thanks, Jill. Happy Thursday to you as well.

  2. They both have great coats for cold weather. Dot hates being cold. As soon as it drops to 10 C (50F) she needs a coat. What a wimp! We don´t see frozen water here in Spain. Keep warm. xo

    1. Thanks, Darlene. Yes keeping warm is the objective. We are looking forward to 70s next week.

Your pubs look quite stylish in their sweaters. ♥ It’s mighty cold here as well, and our fireplace has been burning steadily – a definite plus! 🙂

    1. That is a plus. Our fireplace is on order but we don’t know when it will be shipped (of course) Have a warm one, Gwen. 🔥

  6. Cold in Texas always sounded like a contradiction to me.

    1. Me too. We had windchill in the teens on Tuesday. That is cold anywhere.

  8. The opposite of ‘hot dogs’, lol!! Love the coats. It seems like you’ve gone straight from warm to cold over there. Keep warm, John and pups 🙂

    1. We have. I was mentioning the other day that I never got to wear lightweight long sleeve shirts which are the usual fall choice. Went from short sleeves to overcoat. Thanks, Harmony.

  9. I love that Twiggy’s wearing a cat sweater. I’d have a battle trying to get a sweater on Bond – and I’m pretty sure I’d be on the losing end of that one with plenty of wounds to show for it.

    1. It is a dog sweater but with leopard spots. We tried a cat sweater once. My arms look like I have mainlined drugs.

  10. Tell the girls not to worry — sunshine and warmth are on the way. As you know, wild swings in temperature are common as the seasons change. This time of year, I can change clothes three times during the work day — from bundled up, to tossed jackets and socks, to putting it all on again as the sun begins to lower. I’ll bet there will be days when those spiffy sweaters the girls are wearing will go on and off, too!

    1. Yes next week in the 70s. The pups coats only go on in the thirtys. So today it was 40 and no need. Thanks, Linda.

    What? No matching booties?

    1. We put booties on Twiggy once and she did a great imatation of someone stepping in horse poo. The booties were to protect her paws on the hot street. She refused.

  14. They are pretty cute in their coats, John. Good job getting that ice sheet off in one piece.

Unfortunately, fenced in yard or not, we have to take Maddie out on a leash. Otherwise she sits by the door waiting for us. It was 17 yesterday morning. This is not good for November.

  15. “Hey, why are those dogs wearing sweaters?”

“Well Scooter, it’s because they live down south where 32º is considered cold.”

    “Gosh, that’s crazy.”

“Naw, it’s nice. Texas is a great place.”

    “Do they have cats there?”

    “Yes.”

    “Can’t be that great.”

  19. The girls look like stylish models! Animal prints are in this year. Thankfully, in Texas the cold usually does not last long. But it certainly gets colder in Austin that it does down here. I am ready for warmer weather already.

  20. At least the girls wear their cute sweaters. Dallas refuses, probably thinking his double-coat is protection enough. He really should wear booties on this ice and snow, but that’s next-to-impossible, too. When you get the warmth back, send us some, okay?!

      1. They are visually so sweet together. One so lean and leggy, the other swarthy and buff, like he pumps iron every day. I can surely see the attraction. 🙂

      2. Lucy and Twiggy are rescues. Lucy (boxer) is often mistaken for a male since she does have a buff body. Twiggy’s (French Bulldog) mom was rescued from a puppy mill and (surprise) was pregnant. Twiggy was born in freedom and she came to us at eight weeks. They do genuinely love each other. Thanks, Susannah
