Another Friday has finally graced us with its presence. I think most of us are glad to see it here. I can imagine a nightclub bouncer would not be too thrilled with Friday, but for the rest of us, it means the eve of freedom. It means the beginning of the end of the workweek. Eight hours is all that separates us from our work world and our relaxing world.
I think given all that is going on in our country these days we definitely need to spend time in the relaxing world. I’m not sure but I have to wonder who is really enjoying all the vitriol coming out of Washington. I for one have had my fill.
Today’s JohnKu talks about trying to live through stressful times.
I hope you all have a very relaxing weekend.

It’s not all roses,
And living can be stressful. . .
Need an inner strength.
Great closing line, John! All that separates me is 6 hours. I’m leaving the day job early to spend time with my mother. Enjoy your weekend!

Definitely an appreciated weekend coming up. A little busy, but next week is short anyway.

That is true. Here’s to short weeks.

I plan to spend the weekend outside, soaking up the sun and listening to birdsong. Like you, I am tired to my core of the daily stream on insults and accusations issuing forth from DC. Beyond dispiriting…

I wish we could throw all of them out and start over. *sigh. Thaks, Lori. Enjoy the sun.

Great poem to close off the week, John. You guys have your Washington, while we in the UK have our Brexit nonsense, lol. I reckon somebody put something in the water the politicians are drinking! Have a relaxed weekend, too 🙂

This is politician heaven. They really don’t have to do anything but there is an appearence of being busy. Thanks, Harmony. 😊

I don’t know — right now, my relaxing time is at work. I’m moving in a week, and I see a busy weekend ahead. I don’t suppose you have some extra boxes left over?

Sadly, I got rid of all the boxes. Where are you going to be?

I’ll be in the same apartment complex, but I’m downsizing — going from a third floor large one bedroom to a ground floor small one bedroom. I actually can see my new place when I go down to the parking lot from my old — but there still will be a three-man moving crew involved!

Yeah. Hard to avoid hiring someone. Best of luck with that. 🍸

Good idea. Sadly you can’t trust the news summaries for accurate information either. Thanks, Suzanne.

I also have largely stopped watching the news.

I am in total agreement with this one, John. I went from “I’ve had enough” to “enough is enough” to “aaaaaagh, make it stop” and it’s still coming. Time to search for that inner strength.
I hope you all have a nice weekend. Enjoy the quiet, if you can find some.

I’ve virtually stopped watching everything but local news. I think many of us feel the same way.

Perfect sentiments, John. Sadly, I think it will take a long time for our country to heal from the abuse, but we will heal. We’ll find that inner strength. Happy Friday, John! ❤️

I agree that we need inner strength, John! We live in troublesome times here in the U.S. I turned off the news several years ago and I’ve never been more happy about that decision than I am now!

For the next four weeks, I shall be the opposite of most of you. I shall be working Fridays and Saturdays, serving Christmas party happy people… gimme strength…
Happy weekend to you!

There’s certainly a lot of vitriol coming out of Washington. And there’s plenty of uncertainty over here, on the other side of the pond. If it wasn’t for relaxation I don’t know what we would do.

Yes, relaxation is the way to go. Drinking helps too.

I’m glad the week is over, too. My mom went into the hospital emergency a couple of nights ago- scary! She’s out and on the mend now, but I noticed a few more gray hairs when I looked in the mirror!

When a former journalist like me turns off the news, you know there’s a problem! Too much hollering, too much hate, too much divisiveness. Wish we could toss the lot of ’em out and start afresh. Sigh. Enjoy your weekend, John. The Domer is coming home, so I plan on relaxing for a change!

As a neighbour to your north, I feel for you and your fellow Americans, John. You have been saturated with political chaos for quite some time now and yes, you need a retreat, if only for a short time. Have a great weekend!

Twiggy’s back is getting more brown I see. When will you know how much her coloring will change? By what age…a year? Diva Dog was more Honey-colored when we got her as a puppy, but by one she was white with just a smidge of honey left on her ears. I miss her.

She shoulld stay about where she is.Sometimes the photos make her appear darker. I know how you feel about Diva Dog. I still miss all our departed pets. Thanks, Deborah

I’m to the point of not listening to the news radio at all, and turning off the TV news. Too much, too ugly. Yes, we all need that inner strength, for sure.

You say we need to spend time in the relaxing world, and I firmly agree … but … where is it??? I cannot find it! Perhaps if you could give me the latitude and longitude I could program it into my GPS? Sigh. Yeah, I know, it’s somewhere within, but …

Often wonder what kind of life many of us live. We slave and drag ourselves over 5 days in the hope of getting to the end of Friday. We slave and drag ourselves over 11.5 months to be able to pay for an exotic holiday. Strange.

At least we are still dragging. Thanks, Ankur.
