Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Lucy and Twiggy

“It’s Friday, Lucy. Let’s play.”
“Sure thing, Little One. Wait until I have my coffee.”

Here it is another Friday. It is Friday before Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. It makes it a pretty important Friday for sure. It is that kind of Friday that makes you really nervous if you don’t have all the gifts bought and all the plans made. It is the kind of Friday that makes you wish you had started the holiday preparation a wee bit earlier….like October. Don’t forget there are 24 hours in a day and if you don’t need a lot of sleep, plenty of time to get everything done. Well, maybe not everything but enough, so no one will know you put off your preparations until the last second. Yeah, that’s what Friday feels like, the last second.

Todays, JohnKu talks about procrastination. I hope you have a delightful weekend getting everything done.

  1. So glad that the weekend is coming. Though I won’t be 100% thrilled until I’m crawling back into bed. One more day to get through.

      1. Holiday break. Then winter break in February and spring break in April. I feel like it changed from long ago, but the school year is longer.

  2. Love the haiku, John. I got started and sorted early this year, and I’m so glad I did, because now I’m down with a heavy cold and need to be able to rest up. So relieved I’m not still running around like a mad thing. All the best for Christmas and the New Year. And thanks for the link to Sally’s place … headed there now. Hugs, Harmony x

Although I don’t have that feeling this year, everyone has had that sometime in the life! Hang in there … and somehow, it all works out.

Perfect haiku, John. Of course, the pups “stole the show” with their attitude, which is unmistakably “Howell”. Hillarious! 😀

  10. Good one, John. I’ve never wanted Christmas to feel like business. If I started shopping in October, I’d start giving in November.

  11. Happy holidays, John! I hope you have most of your shopping and preparations completed and that the furry kids will be pleasantly surprised by Santa’s generosity.

By the way, how long does it take for pipsqueak Twiggy to be fully grown and desire coffee before play? 😉

  28. A great Johnku. I used to know a few different people who told me they always waited until Dec. 24th to shop because either “That’s what Christmas is about” or “It feels more like Christmas that way.” Not about getting the right gift for the right person, or even the joy of giving… It always gave me a headache trying to figure out those people. I guess it’s the joy of the mad dash, of picked-over leftover merchandise, and waiting in long lines to pay for it… But who am I to say? 🙂

    1. I think they are offering an excuse for the delay. I could not imagine slamming a gift giving opportunity like that. Headache for sure.
