Views of the Neighborhood – A Walk in the Smith Greenbelt.

Today we are taking a stroll in the Smith Greenbelt in Lakeway, Texas.

We are approaching the greenbelt. A gentle stream and Lilly pads with a main road in the background.

There is a footbridge ahead and a place to sit.

We have to cross a stream to get to the greenbelt. Love the green mixed with fall leaves.

The trailhead.

Some picturesque trees and fall colors with a backdrop of a stream.

A babbling brook.

I thought this old log was worth a shot.

A footbridge over a stream.

The path leads by a large rock.

Here is a shot of two kinds of trees growing out of a rock. The rock is actually split bu the trees.

Another bridge over untroubled waters.

I wanted to give you an idea of the topography and the numbers of rocks on this hill.

The path ahead with lichens and moss. You can keep walking if you wish, but it is time for these old bones to head back. I hope you enjoyed the stroll.

  4. What a gorgeous spot. I like living on the coast, but I’m about ready for another limestone-and-hills fix. It’s great that you have such a complex landscape to enjoy without having to make a three or four hour trip.

  5. Thanks for taking us along with you, John. Itā€™s nice to have placed like this to walk, and relax with nature. I liked the pictures. At first glance, I thought the footbridge had cracked. Then I realized it was a plant.

  6. I love it! These are exactly like the places I would roam in upstate New York, get lost in a woods (on purpose) and day dream like a child does.

    1. It is so peaceful. Given the rocks and stuff not a good place to run, so not many people there.

      1. Since I’m no runner, it is perfect for my tastes. And the fact I don’t have to worry about runners running me down, even more so!
