Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Twiggy and Lucy TGIF

“Uh, Lucy. It’s Friday.”
“I know Little One, but it’s raining out there.”
“We could ruckus inside.”
*Sigh*

Friday has rolled in and not too soon. This week has to be one of getting things cleaned up, so to speak.

My WIP is now in the hands of beta readers. Thank you, everyone. The comments are due back on February 16th. The feedback will be interesting, I’m sure.

I have contacted the cover artist, and we are in the process of developing the basis for the cover. Since this book has multiple locations and time frames, it makes it challenging to decide a representative and compelling cover. The only constant is a 1956 Oldsmobile, which the protagonists use to move from place to place. Maybe there is a way to work that in.

I have submitted the copyright to the Feds. That’s about a six-month wait.

Time to start setting up the launch.

This week’s JohnKu is about fear, which is plentiful these days. I hope you have a great weekend.

Take back, and it’s gone.

Brilliant, John. We are the master of our life, irrespective of the circumstances. If nothing else, we choose our response. ♥

  9. You’re making great progress, John. I think the Oldsmobile makes a lot of sense for the cover given the multiple time frames.
Sorry the girls are stuck inside with the rain. After waking to 16 degrees yesterday, we are scheduled to hit 50’s today and 61 tomorrow. Strange weather, but I’ll take it.

    Happy Friday!

      2. We didn’t get any toranados. Just an inch of rain and hail. All is good.

      3. Glad it wasn’t anything troublesome, John. Hopefully, the hail was the tiny variety.

      4. Very small. We were supposed to get “egg sized.” Glad it didn’t happen.

  16. Excellent idea for the cover – what if you had someone draw it? Would it matter as much or do you still need approval?

Excellent JohnKu as well. Once we face fear, we dismantle its power.

  23. A profound and lovely Johnku, my friend.
Congrats on these milestones. I tend to think covers for very complex books work best with a single image (rather than trying to include all the elements) that represents the story to you — more of a feeling than anything. Admittedly it can take a miracle to find that image sometimes. I like the idea of using the car. I’m sure you will make the perfect choice. Your covers are always wonderful. Hugs on the wing!
