The week seems to have flown by. Not sure why. Maybe it is because it has been a busy one.
I have received most of the beta reader comments on my WIP. I have been very pleased with the quality of the suggestions. Beta-reader comments are seldom a surprise to me because they usually are directed at a part of the story that was bothersome when it was written. It sure helps to have another set of eyes look at the work.
All of the beta readers enjoyed the story which makes life worth living. I am now waiting for the final comments and then will finalize the MS and send it to the editor.
I am very grateful for the support and attention to detail that each beta-reader gave. You have my gratitude.
All else is good. I am currently beta reading a memoir written by a well known New York antique dealer. It is a fascinating story of the NYC celebrity scene from the 50s to the 90s.
We finally got some much-needed rain that was more than a misty sprinkle. Hopefully, more is on the way.
Today’s JohnKu talks about how we look at life. I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

When you see a glass,
Do you ever ask yourself. . .
Half-full or empty?
This week did go fast. Congratulations on the good report from your beta readers, John. As for the rain…please keep it down your way as we’ve had way too much this winter. Rainy Fridays don’t make for a good day out with mom! 😦 Happy Friday!

I will try to keep it here, Jill. I know Fridays are important. 😊

“…no sudden moves” 🙂 These two are smile-makers (of course their dad has a bit to do with that). Congrats on the responses from the Beta Readers, John. I can’t wait to read the final masterpiece.

I love today’s Haiku … definitely half-full, even when I don’t much like my half! LOLs. Have a great weekend 🙂

Congrats on your beta replies – you’re sliding into home base…..
I only ask myself that question about how full the glass is if it’s something I really like or dislike – then the answer matters.

A super philosophical observation, GP. 1/2 empty of bourbon. Half full of caster oil. 😀

When I see a glass sitting around, it usually reminds me that I didn’t get all the dishes done, after all. Happy weekend!

I can appreciate that view as well. When I see an empty glass I always wonder if I drank that bourbon too quickly and maybe need another half full measure. Happy weekend to you, Linda.

Wow, super johnku, John! Such a good question. I’m trying to see things as a glass half-full, leave the negativity to others. Unfortunately, I’m such a cynic, it’s an uphill battle 😉 Have a great weekend. I hope you get the rain you need. xo

Thank you, Marie. It is hard to fight one’s self perspective, but I’ve always found you to be a half full kind of person. Happy weekend to you as well. Looks like the rain is holding off until Monday.

Thanks, John. I like to project myself as a half full kind of person, even when I don’t feel that way. Weather is looking very “interesting” for the southeast. Rain we need, but hopefully not all at once 😉

Oh, I’m thrilled your beta readers are coming through for you, John! What would our manuscripts look like without several more pairs of eyes to read through them?? I think I’m with the girls today — no sudden moves sounds like a perfect way to prepare for a busy weekend — enjoy!

It’s always great to get good feedback from your beta readers. I lucked out with my beta readers too. I received excellent suggestions, but as you said, nothing surprising. I usually see the glass half full, although there are times . . . Great Johnku! Have a great Friday and weekend, my friend! 😀

Good news from the Beta readers, good to see you moving on to the next phase. I think we get our rain tomorrow. As for the question, If I don’t really like the contents, then “it’s almost gone” – If I do like the contents, “oooh, room for more!”

That is a good answer. Thanks, Dan

It’s good to hear that your beta readers have given you such positive and encouraging feedback! My answer to the glass question is, does it need to be washed? So, Lucy and Twiggy have been waiting for Friday all week, and when it finally gets here, they just can’t be bothered to get themselves up off the couch. They’re dogs after my own heart, for sure.
