Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

Twiggy and Lucy TGIF

“Hey, you two.”
“What dad?”
“It’s Friday. You should be out playing.”
“We’re working up to it. We decided on no sudden moves today.”

The week seems to have flown by. Not sure why. Maybe it is because it has been a busy one.

I have received most of the beta reader comments on my WIP. I have been very pleased with the quality of the suggestions. Beta-reader comments are seldom a surprise to me because they usually are directed at a part of the story that was bothersome when it was written. It sure helps to have another set of eyes look at the work.

All of the beta readers enjoyed the story which makes life worth living. I am now waiting for the final comments and then will finalize the MS and send it to the editor.

I am very grateful for the support and attention to detail that each beta-reader gave. You have my gratitude.

All else is good. I am currently beta reading a memoir written by a well known New York antique dealer. It is a fascinating story of the NYC ย celebrity scene from the 50s to the 90s.

We finally got some much-needed rain that was more than a misty sprinkle. Hopefully, more is on the way.

Today’s JohnKu talks about how we look at life. I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

When you see a glass,

Do you ever ask yourself. . .

Half-full or empty?

  1. This week did go fast. Congratulations on the good report from your beta readers, John. As for the rain…please keep it down your way as we’ve had way too much this winter. Rainy Fridays don’t make for a good day out with mom! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ Happy Friday!

“…no sudden moves” ๐Ÿ™‚ These two are smile-makers (of course their dad has a bit to do with that). Congrats on the responses from the Beta Readers, John. I can’t wait to read the final masterpiece.

  8. Congrats on your beta replies – you’re sliding into home base…..
I only ask myself that question about how full the glass is if it’s something I really like or dislike – then the answer matters.

    1. A super philosophical observation, GP. 1/2 empty of bourbon. Half full of caster oil. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. I can appreciate that view as well. When I see an empty glass I always wonder if I drank that bourbon too quickly and maybe need another half full measure. Happy weekend to you, Linda.

  12. Wow, super johnku, John! Such a good question. I’m trying to see things as a glass half-full, leave the negativity to others. Unfortunately, I’m such a cynic, it’s an uphill battle ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great weekend. I hope you get the rain you need. xo

    1. Thank you, Marie. It is hard to fight one’s self perspective, but I’ve always found you to be a half full kind of person. Happy weekend to you as well. Looks like the rain is holding off until Monday.

      1. Thanks, John. I like to project myself as a half full kind of person, even when I donโ€™t feel that way. Weather is looking very โ€œinterestingโ€ for the southeast. Rain we need, but hopefully not all at once ๐Ÿ˜‰

  22. It’s good to hear that your beta readers have given you such positive and encouraging feedback! My answer to the glass question is, does it need to be washed? So, Lucy and Twiggy have been waiting for Friday all week, and when it finally gets here, they just can’t be bothered to get themselves up off the couch. They’re dogs after my own heart, for sure.
