It is Stream of Consciousness Saturday time again and this week’s prompt is “cheek.” Linda Hill says we can use it as a noun or verb. I can think of cheek as a noun and an adjective but am having a tough time coming up with a verb. Maybe something will come to me. If you would like to be faced with such life-altering thoughts why not pop over to Linda’s blog and read how you can solve them by joining the happy but at times confused gathering of writers. Here is the link.

“Something wrong?”
“No, not really.”
“Why are you sitting like that?”
“Okay if you must know I have a cramp in my left cheek.”
“Of your butt?”
“Yes, nosey one. You have a lot of cheek you know.”
“What did I do?”
“I’m in here minding my own business and you barge in and put me on the spot.”
“You fell right?”
“How did you know?”
“The last time you got your cheek in a bunch you fell off the ladder.”
“Okay then, yes I fell.”
“You okay?”
“I suppose. I just need to stretch it out.”
“How did it happen?”
“I was reaching up to try and grab a bowl off the top shelf and lost my footing.”
“Didn’t use the stop ladder?”
“More cheek from him.”
“Huh?”
“Just found the verb form of cheek.”
“Is that good? What am I saying? It’s Saturday Stream time, right?”
“Yup.”
“Well, I hope you will be okay.”
“I am now.”
“That you found a verb?”
“You better believe it.”
“You need to make an appointment.”
“For my cheek?”
“No for your head.”
Stretch, reach, fall. Where’s the sympathy? Where’s the compassion? It’s a cruel world, John.

I think the one doing the falling has been advised on how not to fall. After that sympathy goes out the window. 😁

I was recently warned: “I’m not calling the EMTs to get you from there.”

That is right with,”Do not expect me to visit you in the hospital after your fall.” 😂

And just which cheek are we talking about here. Depending on a person’s point of view the story…… 🙂

Let’s see. There are four choices. I guess you can pick one or two. 😁
