This week’s view is of a special place. Since I am a member of the household that needs to stay home, The Producer bravely went to the event. She is the creative genius behind the photos.
Pots and Plants had a plant sale on Flamingo Drive in Lakeway, TX. They have a plant sale every March. This year it was extended into April. The flamingos have a storied past that included standing up to the city council when ordered to be removed. They were declared pieces of art and still remain. A lot of plant sales have had to be rescheduled or rearranged this year. It looks like this folks did a good job of dealing with the situation, and they certainly had some lovely offerings for the plant-starved.

She didn’t want to get that close to buy, so no. They did have an arrangement where you could go on line and then pay without touching anything but she didn’t have the time to wait. She had her eye on the hanging baskets but finally let them go. Thaks, Jill. 😊

I know many feel they can not go to their local nursery or home depot for plants just yet, but most all nurseries will deliver by way of UPS. That’s how I got my hydrangea and dieffenbachia.

Ohh, what gorgeous plants! Those hanging baskets were especially beautiful. Cannot wait to be able to go to the nursery and buy a bunch of plants for my outdoor pots. The Producer clearly deserves her title…great shots!

First off, I have to ask, what are Kolaches? From the context of the sign, it would seem I could eat tel or three 🙂
We have garden centers opening here. I don’t know how they’re managing any type of distance. The Editor has planted coming from the sources she usually orders from. We might try one local garden spot, it’s never too busy.

Kolaches are a type of pastry that holds a portion of fruit or cheese surrounded by puffy dough. Originally of Czech origion but very popular in Texas. You could eat three easy. Thanks, Dan 😁

As nice as that all is, I’m most interested in that tiny little Airstream. I tried to talk Old What’s Her Face into one like it when we were shopping for a camper, but failed to persuade her. (Like in most things.)

Great shots, John, and gorgeous flowers. I especially love the hanging plants. There is a house around the corner from us that has a huge magenta bougainvillea in the front. The plant climbs up the front of their house and it is gigantic, really spectacular. I’m still trying to figure out how I can sneak in a pic without being conspicuous. 🙂

Gorgeous hanging baskets. I’m working on making hypertufa pots for my garden. I drape fabrics over a mold (cheap pot) after saturating them in a slurry of concrete, vermiculite, pearlite, sphagnum moss, and s-type mortar. Once they cure, I paint them. Fun things to keep me busy without leaving the yard.
